College Schedules Public Forums Lynn to Head Fund Drive James J. Lynn, assistant cashier of the Anaheim branch of Bank of America, has been named Orthopedic Hospital representative for the Anaheim United Fund. It was announced today. In this position, he will assist United Fund officials in determining the hospital's Red Feather allocation for services performed for handicapped children of this community. Complete care of a crippled child may, and often does, cost hundreds and even thousands of dollars in a year's time, with follow-up care often extending through the age of 21. Lynn declared. Even when a child is covered by a parent's insurance, the policy will not cover clinic visits and may pay only a portion of other medical costs, with the hospital absorbing the remainder, he noted. In setting Orthopedic Hospital's 1961 budget request, Lynn pointed out, hospital officials ask only for allocations covering losses on the basis of service given during the preceding calendar year, rather than on expanded or anticipated needs for the coming year. Speed and death are two words that always travel hand in hand on the highways. The Rev. Ralph B. Pease will introduce the 1961 summer series of Public Forums sponsored by the Fullerton Evening Junior College each year during the month of July. He will present an illustrated lecture on "The United States—Some of Its Resources" tonight, July 6. The Rev. Mr. Pease is a member of the Fullerton Rotary Club, a former Episcopal minister and is now affiliated with the Rose Hills Memorial Park. The summer forum speakers are all residents of Orange County and are widely traveled, according to John N. Reid, director. The programs in July give residents an opportunity to hear their friends and neighbors discuss economic conditions in lands they have visited and give their personal impressions of the countries. The other programs are "South America—Some of Its Relationships to the United States," an illustrated lecture on July 13 by Glenn H. Lewis, former principal at Fullerton Union High School, who is now retired. Dr. Giles T. Brown, chairman of the Social Science division and History department at Orange County State College, will discuss "Trouble Spots in the Tibetan Area" on July 20. Final presentation in the series will be an illustrated lecture on July 27 by Harold Girton on "Southeast Pacific—a Problem Area." Girton, retired rancher and long-time resident of the county, lives in Garden Grove. All of the Thursday night programs in July are scheduled for...
