Buster, west coast president of the Town Company, recently was first recipient of the E. Coulter Award, given for vidual, outstanding service. Big Brothers of Oran County. The bronze plaque, symbolizing the philosophy of Brothers with a small hand being clasped by that his adult Big Brother, was sent to Buster at the annual banquet at the Balboa Club. Buster was cited by the cal organization for his conceived interest in the Big Brother movement since its found three years ago in Oran County. NEW HOME SURVEY—Dr. Norman F. Parker, vice president of Autonetics' computers and data systems products division, and his new administration manager, J. A. Crutcher, view new facilities in East Anaheim where final group of more than 5,000 employees were relocated from Los Angeles County recently. The transfer brings the total number of Autonetics personnel in Anaheim and Fullerton area to nearly 10,000. Martin Luther Hospital Offers New Menu Service Meals being served these days at Martin Luther Hospital are "just what the patient ordered," thanks to a new restaurant-type menu service recently put into effect by the institution. Patients select their meals a la carte from the attractive new menus and may specify small, medium or large portions. A variety of wholesome dishes is offered so that patients are assured of a balanced diet based on foods they really enjoy personally interested in them as individuals, not just as case histories. We want them to feel like important guests, which is exactly what they are." The new menu service is also popular with the hospital staff. Mrs. Alice G. Holmes, chief dietitian, states: "Patients select their meals a day in advance, enabling our kitchen personnel to plan purchases and prepare an adequate amount of each item without running the risk of overcooking." Patients select their meals a la carte from the attractive new menus and may specify small, medium or large portions. A variety of wholesome dishes is offered so that patients are assured of a balanced diet based on foods they really enjoy. "It gives them the feeling they're dining out," says Arthur G. Turner, hospital administrator. "The menus were designed for us by Gene Forester, noted artist, who has done some of the finest restaurant menus in the country, and they're exceptionally good looking and colorful. B. Buster Honored by Big Brother Group B. B. Buster, west coast vice-president of the Townsend company, recently was the first recipient of the Ernest Alter Award, given for individual outstanding service by the Brothers of Orange County. The bronze plaque, symbolizing the philosophy of Big Brothers with a small boy's aid being clasped by that of adult Big Brother, was predeceased by Buster at the annualquet at the Balboa Bay Co. Buster was cited by the local organization for his continual interest in the Big Brother movement since its founding years ago in Orange County. He has helped form the board of directors which organized the group here and has been continuously active ever since. He has interested scores of other industrial and business executives in the movement which applies a simple principle of providing mature, male guidance to boys who are being reared in homes without a father. Buster has served as vice-president of the Big Brothers of Orange County and has served as chairman of numerous committees. Along with the Coulter Award, which came as a complete surprise to Buster, he also received a special distinguished service scroll from the Orange County Board of Supervisors in recognition for his many gifts to Big Brothers and other community agencies. Other individual awards for distinguished service were presented to Walter Knott, Al Ecoff, Burgeas Dempster, Harry Knight, Robert Guggenheim Jr., John Koster and Joseph G. Tirico, M.D. For outstanding professional service, a special award was presented to Dr. William L. Bastendorf, Costa-Mesa-Newport Beach School District psychologist. Honored for their work as volunteer units on behalf of Big Brothers were the Fullerton Volunteer Bureau, Newport Beach-Santa Ana Volunteer Bureau and the Senior Citizens of Santa Ana.
