Seems like all the really hip ones are makin' the scene in Special wagons. Not hard to figure. They like its looks, its go, and its nickel-squeezing gas economy. You'll like it too when you see it at your Buick dealer's.

Michaels Is Most Speaker

The most magnificently staged and lavish flower show in Orange County Fair history is taking shape now, according to fair officials.
The whole Floral Pavilion for the July 11 to 16 fair is being turned into a tropical paradise by the decorative magic of Harry and Josephine Macres, directors of the Floriculture Department and producers of the show.
To elaborate the fair's "Hawaiian Holidays" theme the Macreses are now overseeing the work of building three islands, around which a canal of more than 400 feet will weave its way through banks edged with lacy Hawaiian tree ferns.
According to Macres, the first island will literally be covered with orchids shipped from as far as Hilo, Hawaii, and Sidney, Australia.
The center island will be banked with every species of roses which can be displayed by local growers and growers from Colorado, San Francisco, Santa Barbara and San Diego.
The third island will blaze with the beauty of lush flowering plants such as plumeria, hibiscus, bougainvillea and dieffenbachia.
Visitors will enter the flower show through two waterfalls and wind their way, to the sounds of organ music or the strum of a wandering ukulele player, to a gigantic center waterfall in the back of the pavilion setting.
These waterfalls of volcanic rock will bloom with tropical plants and flowers such as ginger, Bird of Paradise, hibiscus, anthurium and floral specimens.

Twins to Attend Las Vegas Confab
They'll be seeing double when the B'nai B'rith District 4 convention opens in Las Vegas but it won't be the heat or the hectic schedule planned for the 1,200 delegates.
It'll probably be because two delegates are twin sisters and respective presidents of their B'nai B'rith chapters in Anaheim and Downey. They are Mrs. Avery Marks, 2529 Sandalwood, Anaheim, and Mrs. Morton Sweet, 7620 Allengrove, Downey.
The young women are proud of their service to B'nai B'rith and its philanthropies and have expressed the hope that their five children will carry on with B'nai B'rith youth programs.
The five-day meeting at the Stardust Hotel is expected to attract delegates from eight western states, Hawaii and Canada. Theme of the convention is "Quest for Leadership" with William Randolph Hearst Jr., distinguished editor, as keynote speaker Sunday night.
