City Softball League Results With four more weeks to play, the city softball teams are still in the process of elimination. Playoff tournaments will be held with the first-place winners from each division competing. In the Northern League— "A" Division: Marshall and Price won over Mann and Henry. "A" Division: Palm Lane won by seven points over Katella. "B" Division: Barton and Madison won over Katella and Palm Lane. "C" Division: Palm Lane won a pointless game on the part of Madison. In the Eastern League— "Girls'" Division: Edison over Roosevelt, 17-14. "A" League: Lincoln over Sunkist, 13-2. "C" Division: Roosevelt over Edison, 7-3. Williams, assistant superintendent in charge of education for Centralia School District, submitted his resignation to the Board of Trustees in a special meeting held to consider placement of principals and the hiring of an additional principal for the coming school year. Williams' resignation came as a surprise to the board and the administration. William Almand, president of the board, expressed his regret over Williams' decision, "Mr. Williams' decision was entirely his own." Almand said, "At no time has there been any thought but that he would continue in the position of assistant superintendent."
