Mental Health Careers Offered
The Rev. David Deshler, president of the Orange County Association for Mental Health, announced today that "Career Kits" are available to prospective professional students.
Mental Health Careers will be the theme of this year's Mental Health Week observance, April 30-May 6. The Orange County Association for Mental Health is a chapter of the National and California Association for Mental Health and is supported by funds contributed in the "Bell-Ringer Campaign" held annually in Orange County.
For some years there has been a chronic vacancy pattern for physicians, nurses, psychiatric social workers, and psychologists throughout the nation and even in California where salaries for these positions are comparatively high.
The "Career Kits" now available at the Santa Ana office provide information on the functions of various types of professional staff in mental hospitals, training required to qualify, and aptitudes which are valuable in the professions.
