Clinics Offer Polio Shots for City Residents With the acute polio season only a few months away, leading Orange County health organizations have prepared for a coordinated polio immunization program for 1961. The new series of $1 donation clinics is now underway and will run through October. Clinics offered in Anaheim are: Anaheim Memorial Hospital, 6 to 9 p.m., April 19, May 17, June 21 and July 19. Anaheim Garden Park Hospital, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., May 2 and Aug. 1. Anaheim Martin Luther Hospital, 6 to 8:30 p.m., Aug. 16, Sept. 20 and Oct. 18. GARDENER'S CHECKLIST FOR APRIL 9 TO APRIL 15 (By the California Association of Nurserymen) 1. Keep Privet hedges full and attractive by frequent clipping. Cut them back severely (not in winter months) to control size. They'll fill out again in a few weeks. 2. Plenty of water is the salvation of most potted plants grown outdoors. Even Geraniums will go for a daily drink. 3. Don't expect a new lawn to look perfect too soon. Most lawns take several months to fill in to look their best. 4. Carnations may be planted now. So may Chrysanthemums. Both like sunny gardens. 5. Plant annuals for late spring and summer color. Bedding plants abound in nurseries this month. Vets Reminded On Deadline Veterans of Anaheim are reminded that deadline for filing for veterans' tax exemption is the first Monday in May. Classes are at 9:30 to 11 a.m. every Thursday. Vets Reminded On Deadline Veterans of Anaheim are reminded that deadline for filing for veterans' tax exemption is the first Monday in May. County Tax Assessor Hugh J. Plumb warned exemptions must be filed in time or they cannot be honored, according to state law. Those eligible for the exemption on the $1,000 assessed valuation include veterans who served honorably. un-remarried widows of qualified veterans, widowed mothers of deceased veterans if there is no resident widow, and pensioned widows, fathers or mothers of veterans. Beginners' classes will be held in the instruction of American and Latin dances. In the American class steps will be taught to the waltz-swing and fox trot. In the Latin dances, steps will be instructed in the cha-cha, tango and samba. The class will meet once a week for eight weeks, beginning April 16 in the Fremont Junior High School gym. Security Bank Honors FFA School Students Fifty-nine Future Farmers of America, representing 11 high schools in the Orange County area, were honored this week at the annual achievement awards banquet, sponsored by Security First National Bank. The event, held at Tustin High School, was attended by civic leaders, school representtatives and officers of Security Bank, Craig Robinson, manager of Security's Costa Mesa branch, was master of ceremonies. Highlight of the evening was the presentation of either a gold or a silver certificate to the 59 youths in recognition of College Offers Summer Term An eight-week course of 45 various college credit classes will be offered at Santa Ana College starting Monday, June 19, and ending Aug. 11, it-was announced today by Kenneth Griffith, summer session dean.
