Leaders of Orange County's two major political parties today joined forces in a bi-partisan appeal to the California legislature, asking that the county be allotted two Congressional and four Assembly Districts in the upcoming re-apportionment of the State under the results of the 1960 Federal census.
C. Willard Key of Fullerton, Orange County Republican Central Committee chairman, and Lester van Tatenhove of Santa Ana, Democratic Central Committee chairman, in a joint statement, said "We appeal to the legislature, not as officials of political parties, but as in-

I BELIEVE:
"I believe that good teacher - staff - board morale is as important an adjunct to good schools as adequate curriculum and good teaching. There should be a free flow of ideas between them. They should develop understanding and respect for the work of each and have a sincere desire to work together harmoniously, placing the welfare of the students above all else. If elected to the school board, I shall work to this end."

Readers Seek More Representation
of Orange County's political parties to address forces in a bi-partisan to the California state, asking that the allotted two Concl and four Assembly in the upcoming re-ment of the State un-results of the 1960 Fed- uss. Key Key of Fullerton, County Republican Committee chairman, ver van Tatenhove of Ana, Democratic Central chairman, in a joint said "We appeal to nature, not as officials in real parties, but as in-terested citizens, to allot to Orange County its fair representation in our State Assembly."
The two men pointed out that in accordance with the results of the 1960 census, Orange County is entitled to 3.58 Assemblymen, in place of the two now serving the County. They further pointed out that within one year the continuing population increase in the county will raise the number of citizens to well over the figure required for four Assembly districts.
Also in this regard, Van Tatenhove and Key pointed out that this same population increase more than justified the establishment of two full Congressional Districts, wholly within the boundaries of Orange County. "As things now stand, the whole of Orange County, together with a large portion of San Diego County, is represented in Congress by one Representative, James B. Utt, Republican of Santa Ana.
"Current plans call for Orange County to be allotted one full Congressional District on the west, while the eastern portion of the county will still remain tied to San Diego County, giving in effect one and one-half districts."
