Bell's 'Signs of Spring' Colorcast Tomorrow Is Tribute to Easter "The Signs of Spring," a musical tribute to the Easter season and the coming of spring, will be presented on the Bell Telephone Hour over NBC-TV tomorrow at 9 p.m. John Raitt will be host on the colorcast starring Birgit Nilsson, Martha Wright, The Brothers Four, Paul Hartman, Tommy Rall and the Schola Cantorum. One of the top stars of musical comedy, records and television, Raitt will serve in the dual role of host and performer. He will introduce the other stars in a special arrangement of "Hello Springtime." Birgit Nilsson, the Swedish dramatic soprano, is considered one of the most exciting singers of today. Miss Nilsson will appear as soloist in one of the great operatic roles which has made her famous. She will also join the famed Schola Cantorum in singing "Inflammatus" from Rossini's "Ctabaf Mater." Martha Wright, who climbed to fame in the role of Nellie Forbush in the Broadway hit, "South Pacific," will sing well known songs of young love in springtime. She will also join Clatworthy to Chair Seminar Manager Fred Clatworthy of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of Orange County will be chairman of a chamber of commerce leadership seminar scheduled in the Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles, April 14. Presidents, officers, directors and committee chairmen of Southland chambers will participate in the morning and afternoon sessions concerning membership development, community analysis, economic development and government relations. Woman Artist's Paintings Shown An exhibit of the paintings of Dolores Yonker, former Orange Coast College art instructor who has achieved a growing reputation in Southern California, will hang in the OCC Art Gallery until April 14. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays and 7 to 9:30 p.m. pear as soloist in one of the great operatic roles which has made her famous. The money was donated by aerotronic employees during the period October, 1960, through January, 1961. The distribution brought to $8,455 the AEUCP funds allocated to charitable agencies once the plan began in December, 1959. RICHFIELD Want to Be Army Bandsman? Here's An Opportunity Young men with musical talent are invited to fill current vacancies in United States Army bands. Staff Sergeant Leo K. LaFontaine, Anaheim Army recruiter at 106 S. Los Angeles St., announced this week. Band vacancies are now occurring at a more rapid rate due to retirement of personnel or to termination of tours of duty. Although the Army provides training for those assigned to band duty, it requires that they have a minimum of two years' prior experience in playing one of the brass, woodwind or percussion instruments, La Fontaine said. Brass instruments include cornet or trumpet, a baritone or euphonium, a French horn, a tronbone or tuba; for woodwind the flute or piccolo, an oboe, a clarinet, a bassoon or a saxophone; and for percussion the snare drum or piano. Requirements also include the playing of these instrucndance band, and doubling in redance band, and doubling in related instruments. Herbert J. Bell, 9, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert S. Bell of 8792 Winston St., recently arrived in Germany and is a cannoneer in the 38th artillery's Battery C, in Darmstadt.
