Check Questions Extend Social Security Laws to Give More Benefit Because of the 1960 amendments, social security coverage has been extended, less work under social security is needed to qualify for benefits, and a person no longer need to be at least 50 years old to receive disability insurance benefits. Ralph A. Dillman, district manager of the Santa Ana Social Security Office, said today that there have been large crowds in his office ever since the law was changed, and it shows no sign of letting up. "We welcome everyone who thinks he might qualify under the new law," he emphasized. "In fact, we're glad to see such crowds because it means word of the changes is beginning to get around." He went on to say people who were unable to wait to see a representative of the office should try again as soon as possible. Dillman suggests that anyone who answers on the following questions "yes" get in touch with the Santa Ana Social Security Office as soon as possible. 1. Have you ever had your application for social security benefits denied because you, or the breadwinner in your family, hadn’t worked long enough under social security? 2. Have you delayed filing for disability insurance benefits because you are not yet 50 SAC Drama Group Schedules Play "Dark of the Moon," an Ozark fantasy taken from the folk poem, "The Ballad of Barbara Allen," will be given by the Santa Ana College Players Dec. 8, 9 and 10, the second dramatic presentation of the year at SAC. The two-act play will open at 8 p.m. in Phillips Hall, with a cast of 24 actors. The plot revolves around a line from the poem, "A witch boy from the mountain came a-pinin' to be human." Drama Chairman Lee Ford is the director. Portraying the leading characters are Robert Teuscher of Laguna Beach as John, the witch boy, and Mary Sullivan of Anaheim as Barbara Allen. Have you ever had your application for social security benefits denied because you, or the breadwinner in your family, hadn’t worked long enough under social security? 2. Have you delayed filing for disability insurance benefits because you are not yet 50 years old? 3. If you are a widow, were you ever told that you couldn’t qualify for benefits on your husband’s social security account because he died before 1940, or had not worked long enough under social security? 4. Have you been told you can’t receive benefits on your husband’s account because you haven’t been married to him for 3 years? Read the questions carefully, and if your answer to any one of them is “Yes,” get in touch with the social security office located at 1517 N. Main St. in Santa Ana. Smith Gets New Position in Bank C.
