'Gift-o-Rama' Set By Hospital Guild St. Jude Hospital Guild is in the midst of preparations for its annual "Gift-o-Rama" scheduled for Nov. 16 and 17. Many decorative holiday items will be offered for sale. Proceeds will be used for Guild projects, agencies, opportunities in the field. POSTWAR ECONOMIC TRENDS IN THE U.S. by Ralph Freeman (editor). The postwar period in terms of incomes, occupational earnings, fiscal policies domestic and overseas; decentralization, change in the American character. Includes some charts and figures but is easy to read. THE RIVER AND THE GAUNLET by General S.L.A. Marshall. The Korean War, Chinese intervention, what went on there, based on documents and interviews; the fighting retreat of the U.S. Eighth Army along the Chongheon river. A good book in its fourth printing. SAMPLES AND STJTCHES by Mrs. Archibald Christie. Quilting, daring, stitchwork on different fabrics, couching; clear illustrations on how to do the work, photos of finished work and designs. Published in England. THE SECRETS OF LONG LIFE by Dr. George Gallup and Evan Hill. Why do some of STRANGERS AND BROTHERS by C. P. Shaw.
