"Today, we physicians have excellent diagnostic tools which make it possible for us to detect certain diseases in the early stages when treatment can be most effective," he added. WORSHIP TOGETHER THIS WEEK Somewhere in your town a man you may have never seen waits hopefully for you. He is a minister . . . a priest . . . a rabbi. A man used to speaking out making decisions taking action for himself, for his congregation and his community. But where you're concerned, he can only wait and hope you will come. He holds something in trust for you—the powerful, crucial first introduction to Faith. And he is anxious to pass it on. The strength and confidence of Faith can mean many things to many men . . . and to the families who count on them. you—the powerful, crucial first introduction to Faith. THE HOME YOU'VE DREAMED OF CAN BE YOURS WITH OUR ASSISTANCE PAUL FOSTER, M.D. ical care to California's 255,000 needy recipients over the age of 65. "The California doctors and our American Medical Association supported the legislation when it was before Congress because it provides funds for medical care for those who really need it," he said. "Rather than being an additional tax on all employers and employees, who are now paying into social security, and then making the care available to all regardless of need, the money will come from the general fund. The assistance will then go to those with proven needs. Determination of need will be at the local level where it should be and where it can be delivered with the least amount of bureaucratic control from Washington." "So far as the physicians are concerned," he said, "care will be continued as always regardless of inability to pay. The elderly need not feel they are being classified as inferior citizens. A patient, when he is in his own doctor's office, in the mind of his physician, the most important person in the world." The Disneyland meeting was conducted by Dr. Samuel Gendel, president of the Orange County physicians. Fingerprints—the molecular variety—are a dead giveaway on the assassins of paint. Continue to dig gladiolus as the tops yellow off. Leaving them to winter over will only increase their chances of attracting thrips. 2. Use pots of Chrysanthemums in bloom to brighten a drab deck or to bring festive fall colors into the house. 3. Sow spring-flowering Sweet Peas. Dig a good deep trench and layer manure at the bottom. Then add a layer of top-soil and the seed. 4. Spring flowering bulbs still top your planting list this week. Daffodils, Tulips, Hyacinths—all of them can go in. 5. Continue to rake fallen leaves and mulch them if you have the space for it. If you don't, burn them, especially if your plants are subject to mildew, rust, or common plant diseases.
