Harmonoy Farm is an experimental project for a team of people who are supposed to create new art; the hero goes there to work but finally decides that the whole thing is not for him. SIX TALES OF THE JAZZ AGE by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Stories the famous author of the "golden twenties" wrote at the beginnings and end of his full career, many not included in previous collections. NON-FICTION CRIMEAN BLUNDER by Peter Gibbs. One of the few readable books ever written about that little-known "tragedy of blunders" that writers call the Crimean War. Contains some very good old photos. THE FIERCE LAMBS by A. Hochling. They were the first to fight and among the first to die; about four young men who went to war in 1917, in words and pictures. Good reading. HOW TO BUILD PATIOS, TERRACES, BARBECUES, ETC. by L. Hochman. Good photos and simple, detailed illustrations on how to lay stone and brick, cut stone, build fences, cover patios, and lay out gardens with a final VOTING AND ELECTION LAWS by Constance Smith. This little masterpiece explains the origins of the right to vote, the voting process, registration to vote, charts on the voting regulations of various states including poll tax requirements, literacy laws, absentee ballots, registration and transfer requirements. Local Hula Troupe Scheduled at Fair Several exciting and colorful performances of South Sea dances will be given by Val Moore and her Hula Nani Troupe of Anaheim at the 1960 Los Angeles County Fair scheduled for Pomona Sept. 16 through Oct. 2. The troupe will perform at both the outdoor amphitheatre and the stage of the Mexican Village. Members will feature comedy, novelty and instrumental Hawaiian dance numbers, Philippine folk dances, Samoan and Tahitian dances. This is the 11th year that Mrs. Moore has brought her troupe to perform at the Los Angeles County Fair. The group will appear on the amphitheatre stage on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. THE PHILOCE LAMBS by A. Hoehling. DeRopp. Written by a noted biochemist who debunks many of the age old theories about aging and its relation to food, nature, heart, cancer, sex. Contains a chapter on the art of aging. SOUTHWEST GARDENING by Rosalie Doolittle. Explains some methods used in Southwest gardening. Includes a section on garden plans and definitions of words commonly used in gardening. TURNING POINT by Donaway and DeKay. Collection of 54 stories which reveal the turning points in the lives of famous people and important events; written mostly in their own words as they lived them. County Plumbers Install Officers Robert Hunsinger, 283 S. Citrus St., Orange, manager of Kidder, Inc., Garden Grove, was installed president of the Orange County Associated Plumbing Contractors, Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Santa Ana Country Club. Featured speaker is Costa Mesa's own famous author, known the country over as Nell Murbar-ger—Roving Reporter of the Desert. The lunch was served at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Warren Schutx. Mrs. Heckman is a past president of Anaheim Auxiliary. President Ann Stakemiller conducted the last regular meeting Aug. 22 and plans were made to celebrate the 25th birthday of the Auxiliary, Sept. 12. OCSC Issues Copies Of Class Schedules Copies of the class schedule of Orange County State College, Fullerton, are available from the OCSC office of admissions, 800 N. Cypress Ave., TR 1-3300. The 1960-61 rintped catalog is available for examination in the office of admissions. Registration is set for Sept. 14 through 17 with classes beginning Monday, Sept. 19. Work leading to the B.A. degree is available in eight areas: Rototiller Helps Anti-Fly Control Poultryman are leaving nothing unturned in their efforts to control files, according to Farm Advisor Lloyd P. Sharp, Riverside County. Newest method is to run a rototiller through laying houses. The machine's whirling spikes stir up the manure under the chickens' cages. This helps it dry faster and reduces fly breeding. Rototilling shows great promise for fly control, Sharp believes.
