I had lunch recently at the restaurant with old world spiendor—THE FRANCOIS MANHATTAN on 4th St. in Long Beach. I had huge button mushrooms sautéed in a delicious wine sauce served with rice and new peas. I was given my choice of their luscious soup or crisp green salad. This was served with large baskets of bread and meiba toast. THE FRANCOIS MANHATTAN have a really fine menu to choose from Flaming Duck and loads of Continental dishes. My charming host was Bob Boyle.
One of the most beautiful Mexican restaurants in this locality is the EL COMEDOR in Fullerton. Not only is the food, service and atmosphere good but they have one of the loveliest circular bars that you can imagine. Wally, the bartender, is one of my favorites (not only is he an outstanding mixologist but he also makes everyone feel so welcome). The EL COMEDOR features BOB CORREL at the keyboard nitely. Bob is top-notch and has a huge repertoire of listenable music. The EL COMEDOR is expertly run by the Rubidoux family (of the early California Rubidoux). Bill is your genial host.
The LA RONDE RUE is featuring nitely that mysterious hypnotist TRIAIM BOYER. If you want to view an outstanding act that is different, this ih the place. The LA RONDE RUE feature dancing nitely to the talented Danny Andrew. The specialty on the menu is Char-broiled Steak ranging in size from 8 oz. to 72 oz. In fact, if you can eat this 72-oz. top sirloin with all the trimmings, you can have it for free. Proprietor Woody Sannes will be your host for this occasion. The LA RONDE RUE also have many other delightful entrees to pick from. Lunceons are served daily and a fashion show is the attraction every Friday at 12:30. For that

Would you like a tantalizing Steak dinner for only 80 cents? . . THE TWIN FLAMES SUpper CLUB in Long Beach is the place to go. You can broil a tender steak over a cute center fireplace broiler just the way you like, then help yourself to all the garbanza beans and salad you wish. . . Take the gang and have an eatin' good time... Your own steak fry without the muss and only 80 cents... It's lots of fun... Nitely you will be entertained by the incomparable Dan Simmons at the piano... Your friendly host is Frank...
One of my favorite spots in Anaheim is the CHALET RESTAURANT near the Disneyland entrance... This charming spot, in the motif of a Swiss lodge, specializes in light, tempting Pancakes (24 varieties) and mouthwatering Charbroiled Steaks... Such delights as fresh fruit pancakes are my favorite (strawberry, banana, cinnamon apple, etc.) topped with whipped cream. These are wonderful for snacks or dessert...
