Therapeutic Pool
Nears Completion
The new therapeutic pool of the Orange County Society for Crippled Children and Adults is 85% near completion with plans for the use the facility in early August. However, formal dedication probably will take place next December, it was announced by Robert L. Williams, executive director.
The pool, first unit of a half-milliondollar rehabilitation center planned by the Society, will provide therapy for 150 crippled children twice a week as soon as it is opened.
Already in place is the mono-rail-type lift that will transport the more severely crippled patients and those in wheelchairs into and out of the pool.
The pool is located in Orange.

Last year tourist spendings reached an all-time high of over $644 million.
Already in place is the monorail-type lift that will transport
the more severely crippled patients and those in wheelchairs
into and out of the pool.

Market Basket to Sell Prize Steer
Grown by Orange County youngsters and exhibited at the Orange County Fair last week, eight steers and three lambs are due to be "exhibited" again... this time as merchandise in the meat cases of several Market Basket stores, a company official announced.
Included in the batch are 4-H and FFA reserve champion steers, says Harold DeLance, meat operations manager for the foodstore company. "We make a practice of buying some of the livestock raised by the 4-H and FFA members," DeLance notes, "because we feel it helps encourage better meat production and thereby, in the long run, better value to consumers."

Modern Multiplex Plating Plant For Hardware Mfg. Co. in Anaheim
Today, Don Hyer, president of Hardware Mfg. Co., announced that they are installing complete new Multiplex Nickle plating Plant at their 800 East Homestead Workers Must Pay SS Tax
Most every day the social security office runs into situations where housewives have to pay taxes on household employ because they failed to file rees and pay the social security to the District Director of Internal Revenue as required by law at the time the person was their employ. Often several acres of back taxes are involved, counting to substantial sums.
The employer should not be led by the employee's wishes, should they waiver payment of taxes. The law is specific on who must deduct social security taxes from employees' earnings if file quarterly tax returns. An employer of a domestic employee must deduct 3% from the employee's cash wages and match this with an additional 3% employer's share, if she pays the worker $50 more in cash during any calendar quarter of a year.
Orangethorpe Avenue address.
This plant will be especially equipped to plate Multiplex Nickle, which is a new system for obtaining a heavy nickle coating to obtain over a 450-hour salt spray test. This process was developed by the Hyer Co. for outdoor installations, marine applications, and other places where it is necessary to obtain maximum protection for the plated item.
Mr. Hyer stated that the plant will be in full scale operation by the end of July. In addition to the Multiplex Nickle Plating production line now being installed, facilities will be expanded for the plating of ornamental chrome, brass, bronze, and bright copper.
The Hyer Hardware Mfg. Co. just recently moved to the Anaheim location from East Olympic Ave. in Los Angeles. They are well known in the hardware industry as quality manufacturers of over 1,000 hardware items and are consistently adding new designs to their extensive hardware line. Hyer quality hardware is sold throughout the U.S.A. and a number of foreign countries. The new Hyer manufacturing plant is located on six acres of land; joining the Santa Fe Railway on Orangethorpe Avenue. At present, three acres are being developed and the additional acreage is for future plant expansion.

took over the route
That '60 Fleetside pickup you see takes whatever kind of road comes along,
and makes about 250 stops a day delivering eggs house to house for Mr.
Harry Hansen of Missoula, Montana.
"With my previous truck," Mr. Hansen writes, "I always had some cracked eggs. Cargo damage always cut into my profits. But the new Chevy eliminated that problem completely. I haven't had one cracked egg with my new truck and I've had up to a ton of eggs in it without any difficulty... I didn't know a truck could ride so nice."
Chevy rides nice, all right: takes good care of fragile cargoes. But that's not even the half of it. Torsion-spring suspension also means longer life for the truck, extra thousands of working miles, because the sheet metal and body components take less of a beating. You can run off-the-road or over back trails at faster safe speeds, too; get in more trips a day, make more money. Those facts are as true of the big Chevrolet heavyweights as they are of the pickups. Any model you name. Get one on your job and you've got the world's most efficient, most economical way to haul any load over any road. Your dealer will be happy to prove that statement any day you say.
"I'm getting close to 20 miles to the gallon," Mr. Hansen states, "and that's on stop-and-go delivery."
