RADIANT BRIDE
First Christian Church Setting For Lois Mae Casebeer Wedding Rites
Miss Lois Mae Casebeer and Larry Ellis Mattox took their wedding vows July 1 at the First Christian Church in Anaheim.
The bride is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Al Casebeer, 312 W. South St., Anaheim. She graduated from Anaheim High School and Orange Coast College.
Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Mattox of Westminster.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She was attired in an exquisite organza wedding gown which tapered into a chapel train. The bodice was embroidered lace which was fashioned with a scalloped neckline and long sleeves that reached her wrists.
A crown of seed pearls held her fingertip veil of bridal net in place. Thebridal bouquet was white rosebuds surrounding white orchids. Mrs. Bob Pickard of Garden Grove was matron of honor.
Miss Janet Leach, Miss Linda Agren and Mrs. Jerry Sanders, all of Anaheim, were bridesmaids.
James Goode of Anaheim was best man.
The bride's mother selected a silver-gray lace jacket and dress ensemble for this memorable occasion.
Mrs. Mattox appeared in a light blue silk sheath with matching shoes and gloves. Her attire was complemented with white pearls, a mother-of-pearl plume, and a Summer Mulching Protects Shurbs From Sun’s Rays
In the summertime, there are many shrubs in your garden which depend upon you to give them a mulch to protect them from old sol’s rays. The California Association of Nurserymen explains that a mulch is any loose material used to cover the soil for protection against extremes in weather. It also supplies additional nutrients to the soil; as well as aids in controlling weeds.
Hibiscus hydrangea, fuchsia and Princess Flower are but a quartet of the many summer blooming shrubs which will thank you for "air conditioning" their bases with a mulch. It will keep the roots of these shrubs comfortably cool, while the tops bask in the filtered or full sunshine needed to promote best blooms.
The rose garden is another area which will benefit from summer mulching. Its chief value where roses are concerned is in conserving water and controlling weeds.

The young couple honeymooned to Northern California. The new Mrs. Mattox chose a beige silk jacket dress with beige gloves and hat plus melon shoes and purse.

Peat moss makes an ideal mulch for roses as well as for many other plants, as it looks well, is easy to apply, stays in place, and improves the soil as it decomposes—incorporating with it.

"Small-Fry Special":
Sunny Graham Stacks On Sticks
Good fun to make and yummy to eat! That's the story of "Sunny Graham Stacks on Sticks," a special summertime treat for all the small fry in the family. This new easy-does-it dessert—layers of crunchy sugar honey graham crackers and thin slices of vanilla ice cream, dunked in melted chocolate—is so simple that even the youngest cook in the house can make it with just a tiny bit of help from Mother. Wonderful idea for birthday parties or hot summer afternoons! Here's how:
Sunny Graham Stacks on Sticks
24 3-section Sunshine Sugar
Honey Graham Crackers
1 pint (square) vanilla ice cream
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
8 wooden skewers
Break cracker sections apart. Count out 32 of the sections and set aside. Crush remaining crackers into crumbs. Slice ice cream into 12 thin slices; then cut each slice in half, making thin ice cream slices about the shape of the cracker sections. For each stack, put together four of the crackers and three slices of ice cream, alternately, with one cracker on the bottom and one on top of the stack. Press together gently. Insert a skewer well into one end of the center slice of ice cream of each stack. Place in freezer.
