Hospital Council sets Rate Change
The Orange County Hospital Council in behalf of its member hospitals announced today a new schedule of rates and charges which will be in effect on July 1.
The necessary rate change reacts (1) recently published relations of salary scales for registered nurses, (2) hospital cost studies conducted in the nursery and maternity divisions, and (3) a county-wide 5% cost of living increase for all employees.
The new rate increase for Daily Home Service will range in membership hospitals from $2.50 to $4.00 per day. The only other change approved was a nursery charge increase to $12.00 and a labor and delivery room charge of $50.00.
The latter item is a flat-rate for normal deliveries and now includes all services of technical personnel, use of equipment, anesthetic supplies, routine drugs and supplies, and linen.
This action of the Orange County Hospital Council is in accordance with the ascribed Guiding principles of the Hospital Council Southern California which establishes a system of charging deferred to place charges in correct relation to the service rendered.
