USS-707 Building Fund Drive Underway For Episcopal Church Edifice A general canvass to raise $250,000 for a new St. Michael's Episcopal Church and related offices and Sunday School buildings was announced today by Charles Organ, general chairman. The master plan for development of the church's property at 311 W. South St., Anaheim, calls for a new church seating 350, an administrative wing, a meditation garden, addition of a guild room to the existing parish hall and nine new classrooms. Construction is expected to begin this fall on the new church and administration wing, Organ stated. Both he and the Rev. John K. Saville, rector, emphasized that the quaint English village type existing church will be preserved as a chapel. It was built in 1876 and is reportedly the oldest Episcopal building still standing in Southern California. THE EXPANSION is made necessary by the rapid growth of church attendance and activity keeping pace with Anaheim's plosive population increase, Orde declared. Two of the church's four day morning services must be held in the parish hall to commodate the number attendee DEMOCRATS!
