CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. — Marine Michael Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Anderson of 1181 Lotus St., Anaheim, completed four weeks of individual combat training May 6 at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton.
The course included the latest infantry tactics, first aid, demolition, field fortifications and advanced schooling on weapons.
Trainees learn that all Marines are basically infantrymen, whether they serve as cooks, typists, truck drivers, or with aviation units.
KANEOHE BAY, Hawaii—Marine Pvt. Howard M. Sliker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard M. Sliker of 1007 Laguna St., Anaheim, is serving with the First Marine Brigade at the Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
The Brigade is the air-ground fighting team of the Pacific Fleet Marine Force.
ARGENTIA, Newfoundland. — Bruce Alexander, personnel man first class, USN, brother of Earl T. Alexander of 301 Mills Dr., Anaheim, is serving at the Naval Station, Argentia, Newfoundland.
