The Woman's World PAGE 3 HERE AND THERE By GINNIE BODNER ANAHEIM POSTMAN Norman Knight and his wife left for Kansas for a brief vacation with Mr. Knight's parents. They will return in about three weeks. The couple reside at 1134 N. East St., Anaheim. A SURPRISE birthday party honoring Cliff Griffin, 8082 W. Rome, Anaheim, was held at the lovely home of Mrs. Robert Windham, 2951 W. Rome. Ten neighborhood friends participated in the fun, each presenting Cliff with a little gift. Guest list included Mr. and Mrs. Bob Haley, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Crippens, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Lindner, and the Windhams. After the social the Lindners took off for Colorado for a weekend jaunt. IT WAS REALLY Mother's Day at the Clarice Graham residence, 750-A W. Sabrina, Anaheim, which operates as a rest home celebrated her 6th birthday on May 5th with a gala party for her neighborhood friends. IT WAS ANNOUNCED that during the month of May all servicemen belonging to the First Methodist Church of Anaheim will be recipients of cookies and candy made by circle members of the Women's Society. A JUNE WEDDING is planned for Di Ann Mildred Sagan, whose betrothal to James Leon Carter of Garden Grove was announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dan Sagan, 9661 Brookhurst St., Anaheim. The bride-elect is presently employed by State Farm Insurance. Sheattended Anaheim schools and graduated from Orange Coast College. THE ANAHEIM SURREY The Anaheim Royal Arch Mission Chapter No. 15 held its first show was held May 21 at the Anaheim. On this committee were Past High Priests Night on Wednesday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. Dinner prepared by the Mothers of DeMolay preceded the exemplification of a 50-year pin was made to John L. Bradley, 606 So. Janss Street Anaheim. He is a member of Horton Chapter No. 47, Horton, Kansai. This was the largest turn-out of High Priests ever recorded for this area. All offices for the evening were held by Past High Priests. The honorary title of Past High Priest was conferred upon Frank S. Nipper, faithful chaplain and secretary of the local chapter for many years. All living Past High Priests with the exception of five were present. ANAHEIM PAST High Priests in attendance were: T. L. Hoa (1928-29), O. N. Brower (1931) IT WAS REALLY Mother's Day at the Clarice Graham residence, 750-A W. Sabrina, Anaheim, which operates as a rest home for women. Resident mothers welcomed their visiting children for the occasion and were recipients of floral tributes commemorating this important day. Mrs. Graham's five children dropped in and presented the group a beautiful cake for this memorable event. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION was in order for Colleen and Patrick O'Brien, children of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel W. O'Brien, 1813 Westmont Dr., Anaheim, who made their first Communion at St. Phillips Church in Fullerton last week. AND IT WAS happy birthday for Virginia Williamson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Williamson, 636 Neptune St., Anaheim, who metrothal to James Leon Carter of Garden Grove was announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dan Sagan, 9661 Brookhurst St., Anaheim. THE ANAHEIM SURREY Club enjoyed a delightful trip to Hollywood where they enjoyed an Italian dinner at the Villa Capri followed by an entertaining evening at the Huntington Hartford Theater to hear Josephine Baker. CELEBRATING their 60th wedding anniversary were Mr. and Mrs. Arch Henry of 210 S. Lemon St., Anaheim. They were married May 6, 1900, in Anaheim. The couple have four sons: Arch Jr. and Marion of Anaheim, George of San Bernardino and John of Orange. CONGRATULATIONS to Karen Langson, Catherine Gates and Marilyn Miller who will represent their class as 1960 Anaheim High School valedictorians. ANAHEIM PAST High Priests in attendance were: T. L. VFW Auxiliary Meet A regular meeting of Anaheim VFW Auxiliary 3173 was held with President Ann Stakemiller, presiding. June delegates for the department encampment at San Diego were chosen.
