Careers For Your Child CITY AND REGIONAL PLANNING With growing population and spreading cities comes the need for city and regional planners to design the functional, urban areas of tomorrow. Now in progress—the Lincoln Center, New York, municipal re-development of New-Haven, Conn., and many other projects. To be able to coordinate the work of architects and city councils—the young person starting his planning career must have the adaptability and ingenuity of a diplomat—as well as a bright, open mind. Directors of Planning in large cities or in metropolitan areas receive salaries ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 and up. The new graduate with a master's degree in city and regional planning can expect about the same salary as a young architect or engineer in his locality. For the free, detailed booklet, "Should you be a City and Regional Planner" write New York Life Insurance Co., Dept. CF, 51 Madison Ave., New York City.
