"The King and I," which ran for three years, minus nine days, when it was first produced in New York, is another collaboration of the famed authors of "Oklahoma" and "South Pacific." Replete with the picturesque atmosphere of exotic Siam, "The King and I." is based on the actual story of an Englishwoman, Mrs. Anna Leonowens, who was brought to the Siamese court in the 19th Century to serve up Western culture to the King's numerous progeny. Sprinkled through this story of a battle of sexes and a collision of ideas are same of the best known songs from the music rack of Rodgers and Hammerstein; "Getting To Know You," "Hello Young Lovers," "Whistle A Happy Tune," "Something Wonderful," "We Kiss In A Shadow," and "Shall I Tell You What I Think of You?" Tryouts for "The King and I" will start June 20 at 6:30 p.m. in auditorium. Production dates are August 4, 5 and 6. Each year, 400-500 bike riders are killed in traffic accidents, says the National Safety Council. More than 25,000 children suffer disabling injuries from these accidents. In more than three out of five fatalities, the bicycle rider is violating a law. Bicyclists too often forget traffic laws aren't just for drivers. The Automobile Club of Southern California estimates that nearly 2,000,000 motorists run out of gas each year. TUMMIES IN THE KNOW.. ALWAYS GO.. WHERE FOOD IS JUST THE VERY MOST! WHERE?
