Anaheim Girl Vies For State Yo-Yo Championship Fri.
Pam Turnipseed, 827 W. Redondo, who last week won the Regional Girls' Yo-Yo Championship in Downey in addition to being twice the Anaheim Park and Recreation Department All-City Champion, will join fourteen other experts in Long Beach Friday, March 11, in quest of the State Championship.
Cold, snowy weather in the mountains makes cleaning windshields difficult but all the more important to drivers. A good help is to wipe car windows with alcohol which will temporarily prevent formation of frost or ice.

Health and Welfare payments shall be made in accordance with the Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
All foremen, unless separately classified, shall be paid as provided in the September 1959 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.L., E.G.C.A., A.F.L-CLO, Southern California Master Labor Code.
The rates of per diem wages for each of the various classifications of work shall be the hereinbefore set forth prevailing rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work, it being understood that in the event that workers are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the number of hours of employment bears to eight hours.
The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5:30 to midnight at 12:00 o'clock night Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the September 1959 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.L., E.G.C.A., A.F.L-CLO, Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Holidays as herein referred to shall be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor hired him to may not less than the said specified rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Each bid shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond for ten per cent of the amount payable to the City of Anaheim to be sealed and delivered to the City Clerk at the City Hall of the City of Anaheim before 2900 o'clock P.M. on the 17th day of March, 1960, at which time sealed proposals will be opened in public by the City Clerk and the City Engineer. Sealed proposals shall be submitted in sealed envelopes and marked in upper left corner. Sealed proposals for lowering (W.B.R.U.) in Harbor Boulevard, Job No. 510," together with the name and address of the bidder. The above mentioned check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract, if awarded to him, will be declared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses to enter into a contract after being request-

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that proposals will be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 17th day of March, 1960, and will be opened on said date at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., in public, in the City Council Chambers in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, State of California, by the City Clerk and the City Engineer, for furnishing the following:
All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power supply and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings therefor on file in the office of the City Engineer or City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, following public improvement, to wit: The vertical relocation of an existing eight inches in diameter U.S. Navy aviation fuel line in the existing right of way of Harbor Boulevard, from approximately 750 feet of Katella Avenue to approximately 200 feet north of Orangewood Avenue, in the City of Anaheim, complete in place and ready for use, without cutting the line and while said pipeline remains in service, and appurtenant work as indicated on the plans, Job No. 510, and shall be tabulated by the City Engineer and the result thereof reported to the City Council at its next regular or adjourned regular meeting, for action thereon by said City Council.
PURSUANT to the provisions of Section 1776 of the Labor Code, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which this type of work is to be performed for each type of workman needed to execute this contract. The successful bidder will be required to continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work and adjacent property from damage arising out of the performance of the contract to to furnish the City with public liability insurance in an amount not less than $90,000.00 for any accident including accidental death or any person $200,000.00 on account of any one accident, and property damage insurance in an amount not less than $90,000.00 and public liability insurance to cover vehicles used by him whether on or off the premises in an amount of $50,000.00 for injuries to any one person or $100,000.00 for any one accident, and property damage in an amount of $10,000.00. Compensation and employer's liability insurance shall be maintained during the life of the contract covering all overtime rule established by overtime and holiday work rates of per hour wage for various classifications of shall be paid as provided in the October 1959 revision of the City Labor Code.
