The Man Behind Perry Mason
Erle Stanley Gardner...with publication in January of his 100th book, The Case of the Waylaid Wolf, is unique as an author. Over 110,000,000 copies of his books have been sold in the U.S. and Canada alone—a stack many times the height of Mt. Everest!
He ceased active low practice about 30 years ago...has since written about four books a year, plus many magazine articles. Perry Mason, his famous creation, is one of TV's most popular characters.
An ardent outdoorsman, Gardner lives a Southern California ranch life. A benefactor to mankind as well as nature, he has brought hope and freedom—through the "Court of Last Resort"—to many wrongly convicted citizens.
