The food is wonderful and their entertainment is the utmost. I plan to stop Monday evening to hear Bobby David Daniel, an attractive Irishman, recently from the east coast. He's been at PAUL'S RESTAURANT only three weeks and is doing a fabulous job. By the way, gals, did you notice the price of self (he gets them started in the kitchen and then rushes out acts as host)... You'll be entrained by Frank Day, a well-known fellow at the keyboa He's a combination musician, singer, and comic... HAL GREGG'S STEAK HOUSE is a real great spot. They really give a lot for a little. The food is wonderful and their entertainment is the utmost. I plan to stop Monday evening to hear Bobby Montaz (I really dig the Latin beat). The Naturals Quartet, a sensational group, are featured the other six nights of the week. I never miss a week without stopping for lunch at the KETTLE RESTAURANT. This is a superb eating spot. Frank Belia works overtime to make this "the landmark devoted to good eating". The chicken and dumplings (featured on Sunday) are terrific. Just like mother makes and that's saying a lot. You can't go wrong at the KETTLE RESTAURANT. Let's have a steak fry at the TWIN FLAMES in Long Beach. Tender top sirloin char broiled the way you want it. If it isn't you can only blame yourself. You can have all the salad and garbanzo beans you desire. It would be fun to have a party here. Red Lester will do the entertaining. He's the most, a great comedian and pianist. This would be an inexpensive way to give a steak fry with no muss and no fuss. The JESTER STEAK HOUSE puts out a terrific meal. Pat, the chef, is one of the best in town. Betty Berry is one of my favorite waitresses. The bartender is Art Ruffalo, a real great guy with the spirits. Had lunch Thursday at DE PALMA'S LITTLE ITALY. I chose a meat loaf sandwich (Italian style) served on onion roll. The meat was at least two inches thick. This delicious concoction was only 65c. David Daniel, an attractive Irishman, recently from the east coast. He's been at PAUL'S RESTAURANT only three weeks and is doing a fabulous job. By the way, gals, did you notice the price of drinks? Check the ad on this page. Stan Rossi's ANSTAY'S STEAK HOUSE is really pack-them in. A friend and I stopped there for dinner and dancing the other evening. Had their special $2.00 top sirlion with baked potato and salad. It was real great. We were entertained by the fabulous Russo Brothers who are leaving to fill an engagement in Eagle Rock (Carmen Russo states "We'll be back in Orange county when our passport runs out." How does he mean that?) Stan Rossi works hard to bring you the best in dining and entertainment. We had a most enjoyable evening. If you haven't stopped at ANSTAY'S STEAK HOUSE you're missing something. Did you hear about the fellow in Long Beach who ate a 72-ounce steak with all the trimmings? If you'd like to meet him, he's Jack Bass of JACK'S CORSICAN ROOM in Belmont Shore. Jack ate the four-and-a-half-pound steak (enough for six people) at the LA RONDE RUE on the traffic circle in Long Beach. Jack made a bet with Woody Sannes (owner of LA RONDE RUE). The agreement was that he would eat the steak along with potato, salad, roll, and relish dish. He was to do this in one hour. If he achieved this he would get the dinner free. If not, it would cost $12.45 (Jack and Woody also had a side bet. Ask them about it). Jack not only won the bet, but he also ate an extra self (he gets them started in the kitchen and then rushes out acts as host). You'll be entrained by Frank Day, a well-known fellow at the keyboard. He's a combination musician, singer, and comic. One of the finest family restaurants in this area is CHALET. Bob Stewart is real fine host. Stopped them for lunch Tuesday and had the 95c special (liver with bacon, onions, fluffy mashed potato, corn, hot rolls and coffee). This was prepared by ex-handers. In fact, this was best liver I've ever eaten. Ordinarily this is something never order. But I have confidence in the CHALET know they only serve the beef. If you don't like liver, could substitute with braised short ribs. You also have choice of soup or tossed saffron. The JOLLY KNIGHT is also no longer for their wonderful steaks. Broiled and seasoned just ripper. They'll make you want come back for more. Friendly place with Mike Roach Bill Colona, Lilli and Ed Ackerman will make you feel like one of the family. For your venience they are enlarging banquet room and dining alley. LEILANI HUT in Belmont Shore is a great place for evening out with their Hawaiian motif and tropical drink Entertainment by King Bo Nawahi at the uke. A gestion for a snack (order mixed appetizer enough two, only $1.50). This includes shrimp, barbeque and pork, ramaki, hagao, Say hello to Don May and NITELY featuring the sensational "NATURALS QUARTET" CHARCOAL BROILED TEAKS DEPARATE COCKTAIL LOUNGE Join Us for an Entertaining Evening OPEN NOW for Moderately Priced LUNCHEONS EN DAILY 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. GREGOS STEAK HOUSE 71 La Palma St. At Magnolia in Anaheim Phone TA 8-1020 MERI-GO ROUND LIQUOR Complete Delicatessen Line by Bridgford FREE DELIVERY I S. Had lunch Thursday at DE PALMA'S LITTLE ITALY. I chose a meat loaf sandwich (Italian style) served on onion roll. The meat was at least two inches thick. This delicious concoction was only 65c. With this sandwish I had a huge, green Italian salad and coffee. This is a real quaint place. It's like taking a trip to Venice. The kids will really enjoy a visit here. One of the features of the ROBERTS ROOM is their special Friday luncheon of fish and chips (served with a roqefort salad). Its real good for only 85c. my apologies to Frank the bartender for my boo boo last week. He's a real nice guy... THE ROBERTS ROOM is an attractive spot (whether you desire lunch, supper, or a coctail). Stopped at PAUL'S RESTAURANT for dinner the other evening... I had porterhouse steak (medium rare) served on a sizzling platter. Really tender... This is accompanied by a large relish dish, green salad with choice of dressing, rolls and coffee. Believe it or not, the bill was $2.02 with tax... Don't take my word, try it yourself... I guarantee you'll not be disappointed... You'll be entertained by Jack Starr who is doing a fine job... If he achieved this he would get the dinner free... If not, it would cost $12.45 (Jack and Woody also had a side bet. Ask them about it). Jack not only won the bet, but he also ate an extra order of garlic toast and drank two bottles of wine... This occurred at 8 p.m., Feb. 22... Believe it or not at 2 a.m. Jack, Woody, and Furst (owner of VICTOR HUGO'S in Long Beach) went to breakfast and Jack had ham and eggs... According to Jack he was as surprised as everyone else because he is not ordinarily a big eater... If you think you can achieve this feat contact us or Woody Sannes of the LA RONDE RUE... To get back to JACK'S CORSIAN ROOM, this elite spot is a must when you're in Belmont Shore area. The food is wonderful as Jack handles the main cooking him- LEILANI HUT in Beilin Shore is a great place for evening out with their Hawaiian motif and tropical drink Entertainment by King Bea Nawahi at the uke... I'll never have you made CROW'S RESTAURANT Long Beach yet?... This tactive Chinese American taurant is owned by Beach Councilman Bob O'I I stopped the other after and had a nice visit with Wolfe, the head bartender. This boy really keeps busy He also has a drapery ness... I also met the bartender, Tedrow, who knows his business.
