Obituaries SHEPARD, Clayton Sylvester, 83, 1811 E. Center St., a driller for Union Oil Co., died Feb. 17. Surviving is wife, Lottie. Mr. Shepard was born in Nebraska, came to Anaheim in 1936. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist church, a 32nd degree Mason and Past Noble Grand of the I.O.O.F. lodge in Kinzua, Pa. He was active first aid instructor in this community and for Union Oil Co.; for many years. Services were held at Hilgenfeld mortuary chapel. Rev. H. John Vanderbeck officiated. Interment was at Melrose Abbey Memorial park. ANDERSEN, Augusta, 91, 918-A S. Los Angeles St., died recently. Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Willard H. Arke, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Andersen was born in Chicago and has been a resident of Anaheim two years. Services by Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars. Interment in Fargo, N.D. BROWN, Lincoln W., 48, of 335 W. North St., died Feb. 7. Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Charlotte C. McLaughlin; brothers, Frank, Charles, Ray and Fred, and three grandchildren. Mr. Brown was born in Iowa. He lived in Anaheim 10 years. Services and interment in Melrose Abbey cemetery; Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars in charge. JAPEO, Stella Caroline, 66, 123½ S. Palm Ave., died Feb. 10. Surviving are daughters, Caroline K. are wife, Ruby H.; sons, Leland Weaver and Harvey Gerth; brothers Ray and Olin Weaver; sisters, Mrs. May Ramella and Mrs. Ana Badgley; and two grandchildren. Mr. Weaver was born in Anaheim. He was a member of the First Methodist church. Services Feb. 9 in Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars mortuary chapel with interment in Anaheim cemetery. GATTIS, Mildred C., 59, of 1829 Chelsea Dr., died Feb. 3. Surviving are husband, Edward F.; daughters, Shirley A. Hamblen and Doris E. Bahn; sons, Everett Maddox and Ralph Maddox; four brothers and four sisters and six grandchildren. Mrs. Gattis was born in Indiana. Services were in Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars chapel with interment in Mt. Vernon cemetery, Indiana. SPENCER, Seaborn L., 96, 1132 W. Chestnut St., died at Orange County hospital. Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Leona T. Merrill of Anaheim and Mrs. Gertrude Donaldson; brothers, Lloyd M. Spencer and Grover Spencer. Mr. Spencer was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church. He was born in Missouri. Services were in Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars chapel. Entombment was in Anaheim mausoleum. MILLS, Rena Madge, 58, of 701 N. Topeka, died Feb. 18. Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John S. Kelsay of Anaheim; brothers Harold F., San Diego; John W. of Escondido; and James H. of Anaheim. Mrs. Mills was born in Kansas and came to Anaheim in 1916. Service was Tues- viving are daughter, Mrs. Charlotte C. McLaughlin; brothers, Frank, Charles, Ray and Fred, and three grandchildren. Mr. Brown was born in Iowa. He lived in Anaheim 10 years. Services and interment in Melrose Abbey cemetery; Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars in charge. JAPKO, Stella Caroline, 66, 123½ S. Services were Monday in Rose Hills mortuary chapel. Interment was in Rose Hills Memorial park. DANIELS, Ethel Beatrice, 78, of 891 S. Walnut St., died after a short illness. Surviving are husband, Alfred Daniels; son, A. Chris; daughter, Mrs. Nellie Ann Saville of Anaheim; sister-in-law, Freda Daniels of Davis; son-in-law, Rev. John K. Saville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Daniels was born in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada, and lived the past five years in Anaheim. Services were conducted Tuesday at the Episcopal church, with the Rev. Saville officiating. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery, Pasadena, with Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars mortuary conducting. SHOEBRIDGE, Harold Phillip, 57, of 3782 San Anselme, Long Beach, died after a brief illness. Surviving are wife, Ada; daughter, Shirley A. Suhrers of Long Beach; three sons, Dan R. Moorhead of Alameda, Virgil Moorhead of La Mesa, and Harold P. Shoebridge of Gardena; one sister, Mrs. R.M. Sharp of Bakersfield; and his mother, Mrs. Alice Shoebridge of Anaheim; and nine grandchildren. Mr. Shoebridge was a graduate of Anaheim high school, class of '21, and a member of Fullerton Elks lodge 1993. Eugene Marcy; three sisters, Jennifer Ann, Susan Jan and Linda June; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wilson and grandmother, Lilia Vaughan. Teresa was born in Kansas. Services were in Rainbow Chapel. Interment in Rose Hills Memorial park. DANIELS—Ernest Frederick, 48, of 1263 Eastwood Drive, a uniform Rental Serviceman, died Friday, Feb. 19th, from injuries received when his automobile hit a Santa Fe train. He is survived by his wife, Opal J. Daniels; sons, Dennis E. with the U.S.Airforce and Douglas Lee at home; mother, Mrs.Emmas Daniels; two brothers, Herman and Virgil; sister, Mrs. Elmer Behlings. Services in Hilgenfeld Mortuary Chapel. Rev.Earl Kernahan will officiate and interment will follow in Melrose Abbey Memorial Park. CASEY—John M., 74, of 313 E.Adele St., died Monday. He was born in Ohio and has been a resident of Anaheim 49 years. Mr.Casey was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Anaheim; Past Master of the Anaheim Masonic Lodge. He was retired from Standard Oil Company where he was employed 30 years. Survived by his wife, Daisy Casey of Anaheim; daughter, Mrs.Blanche Morley of Anaheim; three sisters, Mrs.James Warren of Arcadia, Mrs.Carl Bechtol of Pasadena, Mrs.Inez Goodrich of Lancaster; two brothers, Thomas Casey of Ohio, and Albert Casey of Wisconsin. Mesa, and Harold P. Shoebridge of Gardena; one sister, Mrs. R. M.Sharp of Bakersfield; and his mother, Mrs. Alice Shoebridge of Anaheim; and nine grandchildren. Mr. Shoebridge was a graduate of Anaheim high school, class of '21, and a member of Fullerton Elks lodge 1993. Stanton Ave., died Feb. 10. Surviving are husband, Oliver G. Baker; daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Brewer; son, Gordon G. Baker; sister, Mrs. Cecil Britton. Mrs. Baker was a member of the First Methodist church and an active member of the Anaheim Garden club. She was born in Iowa. Private services were held Feb. 13 in chapel of Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars Interment was in Loma Vista Memorial park. MIKESELL, John J., 59, died after short illness. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Yvonne G. Price and Mrs. Neida DeVries; brothers, Jess and Raleigh Mikesell; sister, Mrs. Catherine Sweeney; and six grandchildren. Mr. Mikesell was employed by the city of Anaheim department of power and light. Services were conducted at Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars mortuary chapel. Interment was in Anaheim cemetery. WEAVER, John D., 75, 911 E. Center St., died Feb. 5. Surviving DELGADO—Othon, 41, of 1111 Beacon Ave died Saturday. He was born in Mexico. He was a member of St. Boniface Church of Anaheim. Survived by his wife, Margaret R. Delgado of Anaheim; daughter, Carolina Delgado of the home; two brothers, Manuel Delgado of Thermo, Calif., and Frank Delgado of Santa Clara; sister, Mrs. Elisa Gonzales of Los Angeles. Rosary was said in the chapel of Backs-Troutman & Kaulbars Tuesday. Mass was celebrated at St. Boniface Church Wednesday. Interment was made in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
