County Republicans Kick-off Election Year With $50 Dinner Orange county's Republican party leaders kick-off election year activities, joining the party rank and file Feb. 19 in a $50 a plant fund raising dinner here. The dinner, to be held in Disneyland Hotel, is under auspices of the Orange County Republican Central Committee. Featured guests will include U.S. Rep. James B. Utt of Santa Ana, State Senator John Murdy Jr., State Assemblyman Bruce Sumner, National Committeeman Edward Shattuck and National Committeewoman Marjorie Benedict. Featured speaker will be Sen. Barry Goldwater of Arizona. More than 1,000 persons are expected to attend. Mind Your Skies, We'll Care for Ours The skies over the Buena Park-Anaheim area don't belong to Los Angeles county. THAT'S THE GIST of a response from the county of Los Angeles to a request by the city of Buena Park that the L.A. Aero squadron patrol skies in the neighborhood to control private aircraft that local residents complain are upsetting nerves and disquieting the area by irresponsible flying. County Building in 64 Per Cent Drop Construction in Orange County fell off sharply in January, the building department reports. Valuation of building started during the 31-day period was $1,679,027—a 64 per cent drop over December and an 84 per cent drop from January, 1959. Obituaries MILLER Roy Adam Miller, 63, of Westminster, died the morning of Feb. 3 in Westminster hospital. He was a native of Missouri and a resident of California for more than two years. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Ann Wayman of Westminster and Mrs. Dorothy Jeannee Mills of Keokuk, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Gast, Mrs. Georgie Gardhouse and Mrs. Oneta Walters, all of Missouri, and a brother, Dr. Irvin Miller of Chicago. He was a member of Moose lodge 704 and the Eagle lodge aerie No. 683. Arrangements for transportation to Keokuk, Iowa, where funeral services will be held, were made by Hilgenfeld mortuary. SITZENSTOCK Miss Louise A. Sitzenstock, 83, died the afternoon of Feb. 4 at St. Joseph hospital after an extended illness. A native of Germany, she came to America at the age of six. She had lived in California 24 years and in Anaheim, five. Her home was at 733 Euclid Ave. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Augusta McGhee of Ohio; two brothers, Carl August Sitzenstock of Ohio and August Carl Sitzenstock of Anaheim; four nieces and nephews; seven great nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews. The Rev. A. McCandless pastor of the Evangelical-United Brethren church, where Miss Sitzenstock attended services, officiated at the funeral rites held in the Hilgenfeld mortuary chapel Monday. Subject of Class The special techniques of Oriental floral arrangements will be offered to interested housewives as a part of the new Flower Arranging Classes beginning February 19 under the sponsorship of the Anaheim Park and Recreation Department. The classes will be conducted by Mrs. George Ichien, who is a noted authority in the state on authentic Japanese arrangements. Students will learn to make exquisite Oriental flower displays and other excellent home decorations using local flowers and shrubs. Classes will meet each Friday for eight weeks at the Optimist Clubhouse, 113 W. Chartres St., from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Registration fee is $3.50 and is now being taken at the Recreation office. PFAFFMAN Barbara Pfaffman, 84, died Saturday afternoon at Anaheim Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. A native of Germany, she had come to America as a child and lived in Anaheim since 1941. She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Mary Bauman and Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Leins, both of Indiana, Mrs. Anna Louise Wolf of Michigan and Mrs. Katharine Lung of Arcadia, and one brother, Philip Frederick Pfaffman of Wisconsin. Funeral services were held today at Hilgenfeld Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Robert D. Spurling-officiating. Entombment is in Melrose Abbey Mausoleum. TEASDALE Theodore Allen Teasdale, 87, died last night at his home, 521 Dustin Pl. He was a native of Wisconsin and a resident of Anaheim for 44 years. He leaves his wife, Anna M. Teasdale, and a daughter, Mrs. Robert T. McKinley of San Diego, and two grandsons, Michael and Bruce McKinley. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Hilgenfeld Mortuary with the Rev. John Kimball Saville officiating. Interment was in Fairhaven Memorial Park. The family requested that donations be made to the cancer fund in lieu of flowers or remembrances.
