International Relations Program Chairman Maxine Weigand presented Robert Wallace iff a talk on his observations and experiences during a recent visit to India last Wednesday evening when the Anaheim Business and Professional Women's club met at the Kettle restaurant. Mrs. Signa Hatfield, president, presided.
Mr. Wallace went to India as a missionary of the Undenominational Church of the Lord to establish a Christian church in that country. He spent more than two months living in the homes of the Indian natives, working with them and preaching the gospel, which they are so anxious to hear.
HE WENT there at the invitation of native Christian Indians who wanted churches established in the interior villages where they have no opportunity

Husband-Wife Duo To Be Highlight of 1960 Concert Series
Highlight of the 1960 Anaheim Community Concert series was the husband-wife team of Pierrette Alarie and Leopold Simoneau who blended their voices in a concert presented Tuesday evening in the Anaheim high school auditorium.
HE WENT there at the invitation of native Christian Indians who wanted churches established in the interior villages where they have no opportunity for Christian worship. The natives traveled many miles to hear the gospel preached.
The reception he received was overwhelming, stated Mr. Wallace. His work was among the Hindus. He saw complete subjection of the woman to her husband and other male members of her family, however, as Christianity was brought to the natives, women became something other than slaves. India is a poverty-stricken nation and he saw great numbers of people, including entire families, living on the public streets of the towns and villages, sleeping on the sidewalks, preparing their meals there and going about every day living in the most abject conditions.
MR. WALLACE stated a window is an outcast, being an omen of ill luck. Also being practiced today are child marriages, often a girl child being wed to a man sixty or more years old, but always staying within their caste.
Guests other than Mr. Wallace were Mrs. Chris Callahan of Lakewood, Bernice Knuth of Anaheim, and Carlton Barthelmes of Anaheim.
Table decorations were in keeping with the international theme, using folders and posters of foreign nations.
During the business session, plans were discussed for the Friendship dinner on Feb. 10 which will be open to members of other clubs of working women. This meeting is to acquaint guests with purposes and aims of B-PW club work and to make new friends with members of other clubs.

Sweet Adelines Begin Busy New Year of Singing Engagements
The Fullerton Sweet Adelines made their first public appearance in 1960 at the Grange hall in Garden Grove on Jan. 21.
This chapter of the Sweet Adelines, Inc., with many members from Anaheim, is nearly two years old and in that brief time they have become well known in and around surrounding communities. One of the current projects is preparing for regional contest, which will be held in Pasadena in April.
Mrs. Randy Connor of Fullerton directed the chorus Thursday evening at Grange hall. Mrs. Connor is past president of the Fullerton chapter of Sweet Adelines and also sings lead in the popular Nightingal quartet. The Nightingals are all members of the Fullerton chapter and were double award winners in the recent national and international quartet competition held in Tucson, Ariz.
The singing group also appeared on the Bob Moffitt Memorial show Jan. 24, at the Ex-
on by numerous SPEBSQA groups and Sweet Adeline choruses from Orange and Los Angeles counties.
Bob Moffitt, who passed away recently after a brief illness, was widely known in barbershop singing circles and was director of the Fullerton Sweet Adlines.
Mrs. Connor and Mrs. Haring welcome all ladies interested in singing old time songs done in barber shop style. Meetings are held every Thursday evening at 7:45 p.m. at the First Lutheran church, Harvard and Wilshire Sts., Fullerton.
Information regarding singing engagements for the chorus can be obtained by contacting Mrs. O'Malley, program chairman, PRospect 4-1554.
