2 Youths Admit Numerous Thefts
Two 15-year-old Anaheim youths have been arrested and accused of suspicion in connection with 18 house burglaries, 50 thefts from parked cars, two grand thefts of motor bikes and numerous petty thefts. Juvenile Officer Sgt. Everil Heaton reports the thefts occurred in and around Anaheim for a total exceeding $1,000.
Among the loot were cameras, radios, revolvers, hub caps and other valuables which could be carried away. About one-third of the stolen goods has been recovered.
One of the victims, Robert Bruce of 743 Gilbuck Ave., Anaheim, reported that his house had been burglarized of only 20 cents, but he had a lead on the two boys responsible. The suspects were picked up and according to Sgt. Heaton admitted to the other obberies—ld mb mb other robberies. Both were booked for burglary.
Acquiring Sites For 106 Schools
According to information received by Assemblyman Hanna from the Southern California headquarters of the Bureau of School Planning under the Department of Education, Orange County will be in the next 18 months acquiring sites for approximately 106 elementary schools, 11 junior high schools and 17 high schools.
Of this number, 95 of the elementary sites, seven of the junior high school sites and nine of the high school sites will be acquired with state aid funds. The remainder will be acquired by non-state-aid districts.
If all of these were developed in the preceding period of 12 months, it would mean that something like two schools, completely built and equipped, would have to be open for students every Monday morning. This is one of the very dramatic representations of the growth of population in our area.

Fricker to Head Anaheim YMCA
Directing the growing Anaheim YMCA during the coming year will be William E. Fricker, Anaheim Elementary School District Board members and active youth leader elected to office at the December Board of Directors election held December 21.
Other officers with Mr. Fricker to be formally installed at the 37th Annual YMCA meeting February 3 are: James Abrecht, vice president for program; Richard Gay, Vice president for finance; Mrs. Al Casebeer, secretary, and Ted Payne, treasurer.
The Anaheim YMCA serves thousands of boys and girls and adults in a variety of activities. Plans are underway for enlarging service in line with population increases. Fricker reported.
