A2 - Anaheim Gazette (Anaheim, Friday, January 8, 1960) Sennes Showplace (Continued from Page One) Mirr Flores Inc. and its president, Lauren Wagner of Los Angeles, accompanied Sennes at the hearing. Ed Ettinger, Disneyland public relations officer, read a letter "of injury" from the park. Disney's Concern Disneyland's main concern, the letter said, were a series of unanswered questions: Will the proposed parking facilities for 2,900 cars be adequate? Would all of the divergent facilities be under one operation? What kind of shows and entertainment will be presented and will these be in keeping with the family theme established by the Disney recreation emporium? Wagner quickly assured Disney officers and the Council that the parking facilities met city requirements and that the show-convention center would be operated as a single unit. The cigar-smoking Sennes took the floor to point out that he had established a reputation for producing family type entertainment. Ice Shows Planned "At the Moulin Rouge (in Hollywood), we put on family shows for 600 to 700 persons at a time," he explained. "We will have complete ice follies and ice shows on a stage that will hold 250 persons." Ettinger said that the Disneyland inquiry was based primarily on the fact that the park is a neighbor of the proposed convention center and "we were not a proached on this and natural are concerned." Then Wagner started New Bank Opens (Continued from Page One) reney by internationally known collector Cy Phillips, and historical photographs from the file Title Insurance and Trust Company. Visitors will have a chance to win savings accounts ranging from $50 to $5 by guessing the number of coins in a pirate treasure chest in the lobby. The open house celebration will last from 7 to 9 p.m., Attheber said, and he will be on hand greet each guest and answer questions about the new branch. Will be open for business Friday morning at 10 o'clock. NOW!—Low, Low BLUE CHIP S at SAFEWAY Save Easter and Easier BLUE CHIP S at SAFEWA Save Faster and Easie Prices are Low! J. Schutte declared, "You won't get anywhere with this attitude." Sennes stepped into the breach and pointed out that he and Walt Disney are good friends. "We'd like to be here (Anaheim) and they (Disneyland) can be a big help to us. Disneyland is one of the main reason we want to come to Anaheim." Sennes pledged to present a detained report in answer to the inquiries when the use variance is again considered next Tuesday. The hearing may, one source said, be delayed still another week until Tuesday, Jan. 19. 8,000 Members (Continued from Page One) will serve as national council representatives this year. Wayne Herbert of Fullerton has been named commissioner and Elmer Steffenson, treasurer. The Council reported that during the year of 1959 more than 22,000 boy days and nights of camping were logged and more than 530 leaders were trained to provide a scouting program for the boys of the Council. The Council also noted that 939 Scouts received advancements in ranks and 1200 Cubs received promotions. There was not a single serious accident during the year's program, the Council reported.
