Claims Office To Be Instituted In Orange County A new office for handling claims under the Disability Division of the Department of Employment will be open in Santa Ana in the near future, Richard T. Hanna, assemblyman from the 75th District, announced today. According to Hanna, the new office will be staffed by about 34 employees and the district to be served will be the rapidly-growing Orange County, together with certain eastern portions of Los Angeles County, including Whitier, Pico-Rivera and Norwalk. It is encouraging, said the assemblyman, to see the people within the state administrative agencies becoming aware of the heavy population concentration of Orange County and the need for service centers within the county. More Serviceable The department announced that it believed that a more efficient and serviceable operation will result from serving the district to be served from Orange County than from the Long Beach office, which now carries this area. It is to be expected that the department will announce soon a desire to have leasing proposals submitted to the southern area office in Los Angeles, as it is expected that this department would rent facilities until such time as a state building should become feasible for Orange County. The news comment relative to ROBERT F. HOYT, public relations director for Orange County Title Company, has been appointed 1960 Orange County Heart Fund chairman, according to Sidney J. Adler, M.D., president of the Orange County Heart Association. Associated with Orange County Title Company for 10 years, Hoyt has been in the public relations department five years. California-born, Hoyt has been a resident of the county 13 years. Little Notes (Continued from Page 1) Its appeal, its unerring instinct for striking the note of Christmas? Partly, it stems from Dickens' ability to capture the flavor of the Yuletide season—the crackling goose, holly berries, red ribbons, and jolly family feasts. It is to be expected that the department will announce soon a desire to have leasing proposals submitted to the southern area office in Los Angeles, as it is expected that this department would rent facilities until such time as a state building should become feasible for Orange County. The news comment relative to establishment of the university site somewhere in the Puente Hills was a result of an erroneous interpretation of material not even being considered by the Liaison Committee in its deliberation at Berkeley, Assemblyman Hanna announced. Site For College Hanna, who is a legislative member of the Liaison Committee is sitting in on the Study and Report Session on the University of California campus at Berkeley over the three-day conference to be concluded tomorrow. Relative to the site of a new university to serve the East Los Angeles and Orange County area, Hanna indicated that the site selection had been narrowed down to consideration of three locations: One in the La Mirada area, one in Yorba Linda area, and one in Costa Mesa-Newport Beach area. The discussion of the Liaison Committee now meeting will be addressing itself to generalities and recommendations, not specific as to any one area or one site. It is expected that the meeting of the Board of Regents slated for the end of this week may develop some additional pertinent and specific information as to priorities of the three sites still under study. Rep. Utt Is Speaker At Foremen's Dinner Annual banquet dinner for the foremen at the Anaheim plant of Dixie Cup, Division of American Can Company, will have Rep. James B. In addition, a presentation will be presented to the Little Notes (Continued from Page 1) Its appeal, its unerring instinct for striding the note of Christmas? Partly, it stems from Dickens' ability to capture the flavor of the Yuletide season—the crackling goose, holly berries, red ribbons, and jolly family feasts. He also packs it masterfully with such sure-fire dramatic ingredients as clanking ghosts and creepy cemeteries. But if this were all "A Christmas Carol" had to offer, the firm of Scrooge and Marley would long since have gone out of business. There is much more behind its undimmed popularity. The "Christmas Carol" trumpets a message which all mankind hungers to hear, that by our good actions, no matter how belated, we can erase past errors, pave the way for re-demption and reweave the pattern of our life. Scrooge, the vinegar-blooded skinflint who scorned Christmas as a "humbug," was himself saved by the spirit of Christmas and the ghosts of his conscience. It took a revolution of character, brought about by the horrible vision of his own name engraved on a lonely and neglected tombstone, to awaken Scrooge to the awfulness of a selfish life. Like the reader, he rediscovers the great truth that life is a precious gift from God to be spent doing good for others and atoning ourselves. Above all, that Christmas is the forgiving, charitable, pleasant time "when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely" and think of other people as fellow-travelers to eternity. It is this message of redemption that gives Dickens' work its everlasting life, and makes Christmas not only the birthday of Christ but the rebirth-day of hope for all. NOW WE TURN to an American aspect of Christmas. As much a part of Christmas as tree and lights is the immortal letter writethat nothing can be not comprehensible but little minds. ROBERT LLOYD KELSAY Funeral services for Robert Lloyd Kelsay, 31, a native of Anaheim and lately of Las Vegas, who died at his home in Las Vegas, were held from the chapel of Hilgenfeld Mortuary with the Rev. NOW WE TURN to an American aspect of Christmas. As much a part of Christmas as tree and lights is the immortal letter written many years ago to 8-year-old Virginia O'Hanlon by Frank Church, then an editorial writer on the old New York Sun. Here is Church's timeless letter, bringing to us the fresh joy and inspiration of our Christmastide: "Virginia, your little friends are wrong.
