500 City County Officers to Attend Water Meeting Orange County's first comprehensive symposium on water now being planned by the Orange County Water Works Group for Dec. 2 at Disneyland Hotel, is expected to attract more than 500 city and county officials. Walter Blume of the OCWWG, says invitations are being mailed early in an effort to obtain county area participation in the symposium which will deal with important phases of the water problem confronting 21 cities and the county. Anaheim Gazette Nov. 5, 12, 1959) LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSals FOR FURNISHING ALL PLANT, LABOR, SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND PERFORMING ALL WORK NECESSARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND COMPLETION PARTLY WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIALICATIONS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OF THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT OR WORK. FURNISHING AND INSTALLING A FIXED TIME TRAFIC SIGNAL SYSTEM, WITH STREET LIGHTING, AT KATELLA AND EUCLID AVENUES, JOB NO. 455. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 19th day of November, and will be opened on behalf of the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract. Each bid shall be made out on a form obtained at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond for ten (10) per cent of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Anaheim, and shall be sealed and delivered to the City Clerk at the City Hall of the City of Anaheim before 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 18th day of November, at the time the proposal will be opened in public by the City Clerk and the City Engineer. Sealed proposals shall be submitted in sealed envelopes and marked in the upper left hand corner "Sealed proposals for construction of A TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYSTEM AT KATELLA AND EUCLID AVENUES, JOB No. 455," together with the name and address of the bidder. The above mentioned check or bid shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract, if awarded to him, and will be declared fortified if the successful bidder refuses to enter into said contract after being requested to do so by the City of Anaheim. Such contract shall be entered within fifteen (15) days after receipt by said contractor of notice of the awarding of the contract, unless such time is extended by the City of Anaheim. Each bid must specify the name and location of the mill, shop or office of each subcontractor who will perform work or labor or render services to the contractor in or about the construction of the work or improvement and the portion of the work which will be done by each subcontractor. If any bid submitted falls to, specifically correct as assured, the contractor submitting such bid agrees to perform the work himself. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faithful performance bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price and a labor and material bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price, by him in the performance of work or any part of the work public improvement will be required to use only such manufactures, materials and supplies deemed or produced in those States, and only such materials as have been manufactured from articles, materials and materials produced or produced in those States pursuant to the provisions of Section 4300 to 4305, both in California. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 4320 and 4321 of the Measure Code of the State of California price, fitness and quality equal, the successful bidder as subcontractors or contractorsployed by him to do any part work on the above described improvement shall be required to supply grown, manufactured in the State of California. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Non-collision Affidavit, which may be obtained from a Clerk. The successful bidder shall be required to enter into contact with the City of Anaheim manner and form approving the City Attorney of the City Anaheim. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work, it being understood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that, the number of hours of employment bears to eight hours. The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the last half time from 5:00 o'clock P.M.
