DELCO'S for SEATTLE LEO PEANKUCH of the Pacific Scientific Research, Anaheim; Clyde Cromer, president, and George E. Strachan, general manager, respectively, of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, seem tickled—justly so—as Delco begins phenomenal, record-breaking truck shipment of 30,000 batteries from its Anaheim plant—all in one day. Minute Editorial This reported on good authority that Norman Chandler, the Los Angeles Times tycoon, now wants to annex Orange County to his Los Angeles County political empire. In other words, after an Orange County Metropolitan District is formed, Chandler would combine it with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan District, under his control, of course. Some men just never do known when they're surfeited with trouble and overcompete with the lust for power. It would be better if Chandler would tend to own knitting in his own L.A. backyard. Apparently the lessons of the Republican state debacle last November for which he and "The Spring Street Boys" were largely responsible, hasn't yet percolated deeply enough in his consciousness. He also ought to gear the repercussions from Orange County leaders to this latest tentative grasp for more power by the Chandler machine. Phew! Would the Chandler face be red!
