Among the reasons advanced by Security-First National Bank’s Research Department for Orange County’s phenomenal growth are:

“It has vacant space to accommodate growth.

"It has vacant space to accommodate growth.
"The area has an exceptionally fine climate and environment for living and working.
"It has less congestion, lower land prices and less smog than areas closer to the core of the Metropolitan area.
"The area has acquired an impressive list of companies and a tremendous pool of skilled workers in electronics, 'avionics' and related fields. This attracts still more companies in these fields."
To which may be added that Anaheim is the natural center of all this manufacturing and business activity.
Also that the "Santa Ana Freeway Peoples" have the necessary spirit, intelligence and independence which spells "GROWTH" in large letters.
Remember, Orange County is the fastest growing county of more than 700,000 population in the United States.
In the next decade, the county's population is expected to show an increase averaging 62,800 to 74,000 each year.
Manufacturing employment and payroll have expanded more rapidly in Orange County than in any other county in Southern California.
In the decades ahead, Orange County is expected to remain the fastest growing county in Southern California.
The range of "growing things" in Orange County extends from a $34 million crop of Valencia oranges to small beds of vegetables and flowers which are backgrounds for countless homes.

Favors Reports on Teacher Suspects
According to a resolution adopted by the Orange County Associated Chambers of Commerce school boards should receive reports on teachers who have been investigated by the Congressional Committee on Un-American Activities.
The recommendation was made in connection with a current controversy in California whether such information should be made available to the school districts through the State Board of Education.
The Associated Chambers also went on record as favoring the continuance of loyalty oaths for public officials and employees.
Winchell Issues Light Warning
Capt. Floyd Winchell, commanding Orange County Division, California Highway Patrol, warns that under no circumstances should automobiles or trucks be driven with only their parking lights turned on.
Captain Winchell's admonition was incidental to the switch to Standard Time, with dusk occurring earlier during the evening rush hours.
The captain noted that highway patrolmen will be particularly alert for violators of the three-year-old light law." He cautioned that there still are some persons unaware of the state law that only headlights may be used when an automobile is in motion.
