Anaheim Resident Aids in Resolution Commending 'Ike'
President Eisenhower and his Republican Administration were commended this week by the Orange County Republican Central Committee for "his courage and tenacity" in checking inflation and balancing the nation's fiscal budget in the face of overwhelming Democratic majorities in Congress bent on a deficit financed free-spending era for the federal government.
Introduced by Coalson Morris, Republican County chairman and longtime leader of the Party from Anaheim, the resolution was dispatched to the White House along with encouragement for the President to continue to fight for fiscal responsibility when the second session of the 86th Congress re-convenes in January to consider a score more of spending bills authored by Democrats with an estimated five-year cost to the taxpayers of more than $1.4 billion.
WHEREAS, the Democraticember 21st, 1959, commends 86th Congress was re-established as the Spending Party by its sponsoring the introduction of welfare-state, budget-busting airport, housing and community facilities legislation carrying an estimated five-year price tag of $117 billion, and
WHEREAS, the Democratic member 21st, 1959, commends 86th Congress was re-established as the Spending Party by its sponsoring the introduction of welfare-state, budget-busting airport, housing and community facilities legislation carrying an estimated five-year price tag of $117 billion, and
WHEREAS, the Eisenhower Republican Administration, with the help of an aroused citizenry demanding a sound, business-like principle in government finance, successfully resisted the encroachments of the free-spending Democratic philosophy by holding the 1959-60 federal budget to a balanced $79 billion, and
WHEREAS, the President courageously used the power of the veto to sustain the will of the nation to achieve fiscal responsibility, and
WHEREAS, the Democrats continue to press for more and more welfare-state spending as evidenced by bills approximating a five year cost to the taxpayers of more than $194 billion still to be considered by the second session of the 86th Congress when it reconvenes in January.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE OF ORANGE COUNTY, in regular meeting on Sep-Party in the first session of the President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower, for his courage and tenacity in the face of overwhelming Democratic majorities in both the Senate and the House of Representatives to insist that the Congress balance the nation's fiscal budget and hold in check inflationary pressures that would have been unleashed to the detriment of the people of America by the enactment of deficit-financed appropriations, and
FURTHER, BE IE RESOLVED THAT the Eisenhower Republican Administration be encouraged to continue the fight for fiscal responsibility when billions more of free-spending ideas proposed by the Democratic majority will come before the second

'Get Tough' For Junior Colleges Here Approved
New "get tough" scholarship standards just approved by the State Board of Education for California junior colleges are already in effect at Fullerton Junior College, points out Dr. H. Lynn Shelter, director. Many Anaheim residents attend this scholi.
The State Board, meeting at Santa Barbara this past week, approved a resolution that any junior college student falling to make a C-grade average during his first semester is to be placed on scholarship probation for his second semester. Should he fall to raise his grades to achieve the C-average during that second semester, he is subject to dismissal.
Exactly such a system is already in effect at F and present students required to maintain ards. Last year at the first semester more students landed on the p for falling to maintai C-. Of this group 87 voluntarily; 71 rai
