Chambers Move to Provide Better Service for County Associations
Executives of Orange County Chambers of Commerce moved this week to provide better service for their organizations and other groups and associations throughout the County.
The men and women, representing the 12 largest Chambers in the County, have formed the Orange County Association of Chamber of Commerce Managers, under the chairmanship of John Ek, Manager of the Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce.
George E. Strachan, Manager of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, said of the move, "Operating a Chamber of Commerce is like operating any other corporation. Just as a lumber dealer is a specialist in the lumber business, so are the Chamber managers specialists in their profession."
The local executive continued, "We are trained in the 'ins and outs' of Chamber work, and devote our full time to it. We therefore feel it is our duty to offer all the assistance we can to effect closer relations between the communities and organizations of this county.

Foresters Set Family Picnic At Disneyland
According to Chief Ranger Richard Calvert, The Independent Order of Foresters will stage their annual family picnic in "Holidayland" a part of the world famous Disneyland in Anaheim, on Sunday, Oct. 11.
In announcing arrangements for this outing, Forrester members, their families and guests will be able to enjoy exclusive entertainment in this spacious 8-acre, fenced-in private park called "Holidayland."
Those attending will find new, exciting and exclusive facilities such as special Disneyland entertainment, playground equipment for all ages, including a softball diamond, borsheshoe pit, volleyball court, ping pong and badminton; also beautiful shaded picnic areas available for families wishing to bring basket lunches.
The Independent Order of Foresters' Robin Hood Band with their new "stars of Tomorrow" show will be there to perform under the world's largest candy-striped circus tent, which also houses a gigantic dance floor where square dancing will be held some time during the afternoon.
Through a private entrance, Foresters and their guests will be able to enter the "Magic Kingdom."
The gates will open at 8 a.m., and a fun-filled day is in store for all attending.
Calvert, who resides at 13261 Dongal Dr., Garden Grove, is the presiding officer of Theent Order of Foresters' No. 1140.

Local College to Present Another Guild Production
As its next presentation, the Chapman College Great Films Guild show the German production, "The Captain from Koopennick," at 8 p.m. today in the Orange Theater.

Executive Course Opens at Fullerton
An executive training course, titled Microphone and Platform Speaking for Executives, will be offered by Fullerton Junior College for a twelve-week period to December 1, according to Principal John N. Reid.
The new course is designed to emphasize streamlined principles of showmanship, voice color, role playing, human relations and salesmanship, Reid said.

Evening Class Seeks Writers
There is room for more amateur newspaper men and women in the Fullerton Junior College evening class in journalism.
The class, which meets each Thursday evening in T-5 on the College campus at 7 p.m., produces an eight-page tabloid newspaper exclusively for evening students. The newspaper, tailored to older adult students who attend evening classes, was created last semester and reached a circulation of 2000 copies.
