NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR FURNISHING ALL PLANT, LABOR, SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND PERFORMING ALL WORK NECESSARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION, IMPLEMENTATION WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OF IMPROVEMENT OR WORK. THE IMPROVEMENT OR WORK FROM STANTON AVENUE TO 2-15 PETE WEST OF STANTON AVENUE. PROJECT NO. 69.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 24th day of September, 1858, and will be opened on said date at the hour of 9:00 o'clock P.M. In public in the City Council Chamber in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim State of California, by the City Clerk and the City Engineer, for furnishing the following:
All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings on file in the office of the City Clerk or City Engineer of the City of Anaheim.
The following public improvement, to wit: The Improvement of Rail Road from Stanton Avenue to 1,000 feet West Of Stanton Avenue, by excavation, construction of 2, 3 and 4-inch plant-mix surfacing, including paint binder and construction of 8 inches of untreated rock base, adjustment of existing manholes to grade and appurtenment work as indicated on the plans. Project No. 69 and shall be tabulated by the City Engineer and the result served by the City Council next regular or adjourned regular meeting, for action thereon by said City Council.
PURSUANT to the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code the City Council of the City of Anaheim has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which this type of work is to be performed for workman needed to execute this contract. The hourly wage scale so ascertained is
the name and address of the bidder Ave. Project No. 69 together with the above mentioned check or bond shall be given as a payment that is awarded to him, and will be declared forefitted if the successful bidder refuses to enter into said contract after being requested to do so by the City of Anaheim. Such contract shall be entered into within fifteen (15) days after receipt by said contractor of notice of the awarding of the contract, unless such such is extended by the City of Anaheim.
Each bid must specify the name and location of the mill shop or office of each sub-contractor who will perform work or labor or render services to the contractor in or about the construction of the work or improvement which will be done by said contractor. If any bid admitted fails to specify the contractor as aforeseen, the contractor submitting such bid agrees to perform the work himself.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faithful performance bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price and a labor and material bond in an amount equal to 100% of the bonded bonds to be received from a surety company satisfactory to the City Council of the City Anaheim and shall be approved by the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency before acceptance.
Plans and specifications may be obtained from the City Engineer or the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim at the City Hall, Anaheim, California for one mile. Five Dollars (5.00) of picked up at said offices, or the sum of Six Dollars ($6.00) if forwarded by mail.
The successful bidder will be required to continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work and adjacent property from damage arising out of the performance contract and to satisfy insurance in an amount not less than $100,000.00 on account of any one accident, and property damage insurance in an amount not less than $50,000.00, and public liability insurance to cover vehicles used by him whether on or off the premises an amount of $50,000.00 for injuries to any one person or company satisfied to the City and subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency.

The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be accompanied with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 10:00 to 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one half times the basic rate of wages and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the May, 1958 revision of the A.C.C.B.C. B.C. H.R. N.C.A.J.A.E.L.O. Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday.
It shall be mandatory to obtain a tractor to whom the contract is awarded upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and机械 employed by them in the office of the contractor.
Each bid shall be made in form to be obtained at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified cashier check or bid bond for ten (10) per cent of the amount of the bid made per person in the City Clerk and shall be sealed and delivered to the City Engineer for construction of the improvement of Ball Road, from Stanton Ave. to 2,000 West of Stanton California, under the fictitious firm name of LIFE INSTITUTE OF SLEEP EDUCATION and that said firm is composed of the following persons, whose name and addresses are as follows:

If any bid submitted shall be required to furnish a faithful performance bond in an amount equal to the contract price and material bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price paid bonds to be secured from a surety or bonding company satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Anaheim and shall be approved by the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency before acceptance.
Plans and specifications may be objectionable by the City Engineer or the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim on the sum of five Dollars ($5.00) of picked up at said offices, or the sum of six Dollars ($6.00) if forwarded by mail.
The successful bidder will be required to continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work and property from damage arising out of the performance of the contract and to furnish the City with public liability insurance in an amount not less than $100,000.00 for injuries including accidental death of any one person, $300.00, on account of any one accident, and property damage insurance in an amount not less than $500,000.00 for injuries to any one person or $100,000.00 for any one accident, and property damage in an amount of $100,000.00. Compensation and employer's liability insurance shall be maintained during the life of the contract covering all employees on the project. The contractor shall be responsible that employes of subcontractors are protected by such insurance. Such insurance shall be furnished by companies satisfactory to the City and subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency.
The successful bidder and any subcontractor and contractors employed by him in the performance of said part of the work or equipment will be required to use only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been manufactured in the United States substantially all from articles, materials and supplies mined, produced or manufactured as the sole means of production pursuant to the provisions of Sections 4300 to 4308, both inclusive, of the Government Code of the State of California.

FRED D. JAMES
Funeral arrangements for Fred D. James, 69, of 416 N. Bush St., who died in Orange after a long illness, were conducted by Backs-Troutman and Kaulbars and the remains shipped to Kansas City for burial. Mr. James was born in Nebraska and had lived in Anaheim three years. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Private funeral services for Arthur M. Fredrickson, 74, of 1012 Ocean Ave., Seal Beach. were held at Backs-Troutman and Kaulbars Chapel with interment in Melrose Abbey Mausoleum. Mr. Fredrickson was born in Wisconsin and had lived in California 38 years. He was retired from the Richfield Oil Company. He is survived by his wife, Audrey.

Funeral services for Arthur W. Hilty, 42, of 2103 Nyon Pl., who died at St. Joseph Hospital were conducted in the United Lutheran Church of Santa Ana with burial in Anaheim Cemetery, Backs-Troutman and Kaulbars directing. Born in Pennsylvania, he was employed for eight years at Kaiser Steel Company. Surviving are his wife, Jean; two daughters, Sue and Karen; two brothers, Paul and Dolton of Pennsylvania.

Funeral services for Clark W. Wingert, 70, of 8471 Rio Vista St., who died at St. Jude Hospital after a long illness, were held in Backs-Troutman and Kaulbars Chapel with interment in Anaheim Cemetery, Mr. Wingert was a native of Marchand, Penn., and had lived in Anaheim for 27 years. He was a citrus rancher for more than 40 years. He was a member of Silver Cord Lodge 505 F. and A.M. in Santa Ana. Surviving are his wife, Versa; a daughter, Nancy J. Wingert; a son, Clark W.Jr., both of the family home; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Roderus of Pittsburgh, Penn.; and Charlotte Wingert of Anaheim; and two brothers, Chagles of Marchand and Frank of Marysville, Calif.

Funeral services for Jose M. Cisneros, 21, of 1136 N. Parry St., who died suddenly at his home Sunday, were held at Hilgenfeld Mortuary Chapel and at the Mexican Baptist Church with the Rev. Rev. J.
