Registration Opens For Swim Classes Registration for Adult Beginners and Intermediate Swimmers will take place on Monday and Tuesday evenings, August 31 and September 1, at Western and Anaheim High School Pools, at 7 p.m. Adults are advised that beginners should sign up on Monday night and intermediate on Tuesday night. Classes at both High Schools will be continued if there is a sign-up of twenty or more people. The courses are open for both men and women. The fee will be $3.00 for five weeks. Fighter Planes Due in City Parks Navy fighter planes are due soon to blossom on several city parks. Negotiations are going on between W. B. Stronach, recreation director, and officials at the military surplus depot at Litchfield, Ariz., to acquire the first plane for installing at Placentia and Vermont parks. The plane will probably be a surplus Navy Douglas FrD radar fighter. The first plane may be delivered in September. TEACHERS RESIGN Obituaries D. M. SCHIMMEL Funeral services were held for David Morris Schimmel, who lived at 829 So. Helena. Schimmel, 82, was a native of Kentucky and lived in Southern California for 13 years. He is survived by sons, James M. of Los Angeles and Emmett D. of Anaheim; daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Webster of Richland, Washington; sister, Mrs. Ella M. Craig of Texas, four grandchildren and one great grandson. Services are under the direction of Hilgenfeld Mortuary. E. G. WARREN Private funeral services were held for Warren Ethelbert Grabil, 96, a pianist and teacher who died Friday at Parkview Convalescnt. His home was at 511 N Lemon and, he had resided in Anaheim for the past six years. He is survived by his widow Clare M. Hilgenfeld Mortuary handled the services. MAUDE MARIE PENINGER Funeral services were held for Maude Marie Peninger, 52, who resided at 116 S. Bush St. She died Friday after an extended illness at St. Jude Hospital. She leaves her widower, Lester M.; daughter, Mrs. Madgelene E. Webb of New Mexico; son, Jerry A. Kimball of Brea; two sisters and three grandchildren. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. H. John Vanderbeck officiated at services held in Hilgenfeld Mortuary. Burial was in Loma Vista Park.
