Supervisor Phillips Heads Air Council Orange County was singly honored at the Southern California Air Pollution Coordinating Council meeting held at Mission Valley Inc., San Diego, on July 16. William J. Phillips, Orange County Supervisor of the Third District which covers Anaheim was elected president, to succeed Warren Dorn, supervisor of Los Angeles County. College Opens Fall Registration Registration for new students to attend Orange Coast College in September began Monday, Aug. 3, according to Correllan Thompson, associate dean of admissions and records. New students must take the pre-registration examination prior to meeting with their counselors by appointment which may be made by calling the college center at KI 5-1151. Serves on Board Dr. Basil H. Peterson, president of Orange Coast College, has been invited by the Master Planning Survey Committee of Higher Education to serve on a special committee for the selection and rentention of students in California colleges and universities. LEGAL NOTICE (Pub. Anaheim Gazette, Aug. 6, 1959) ORDINANCE NO. 1306 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OF THE NORTHERN KNOWN AND ASSIGNED "ORANGE COUNTY WATER DISTRICT ANNEXATION." THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 11: That the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on the 2nd day of June, 1959 by its Resolution No. 5274, institute proceedings on its own initiative for the annexation of certain new uninhabited territory described in said resolution. That before the passage and adoption of said Resolution, the proposal for the annexation of the territory heralded described to the City Anaheim was submitted to the Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commission of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries that the non-continuedness of proposed boundaries with lines of assessment or ownership, the creation of islands or corridors of unincorporated territory and other similar matters affecting the proposed boundaries. That said territory proposed to be annexed to the City Anaheim situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and is contiguous to the City Anaheim, is uninhabited territory, and does not form a part of any municipal corporation. That said Resolution contained a description of said territory in words and language after this Ordinance described. That said Resolution No. 5274 was duly passed and adopted at an adjourned regular meeting of said City Council of the City of Anaheim, and specifically described the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim and designated such territory as "ORANGE COUNTY WATER DISTRICT ANNEXATION" and gave notice of such annexation and fixed the 14th day of July, 1959, at the hour of 7:06 o'clock P.M., at the City Council Chamber, the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, as the day and place for hearing of written protests to said annexation and when and where any person owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having objections to the proposed annexation might appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and present written objections to the annexation of said territory to the City Council of Anaheim and directed that it be published to be published copy of said Resolution at least twice, but not otherwise once a week, for two successive weeks prior to the date of said hearing, in newspaper of general circulation printed, published and circulated outside of the City of Anaheim, but within the County of Orange, by being advertised by an official notice of such proposed annexation to be announced to the City Anaheim, to wit; the Daily News Garment Grove and directed that said publication be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date hearing nereintimate mentioned in further directed by City Council of the City of Anaheim to be mailed to each person who land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the legalized county assessment available on the date that such notice is given to City Council of the City of Anaheim to be annexed by County, that the City Clerk and cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such county and directed that such notice given not less than (8) days after first public hearing on such proposed annexation.
