DRESS REHEARSAL — Members of the Our Lady of the Rosary Institute 109 try on Hawaiian dresses and experiment with colorful leis in preparation for their Hawaiian Luau to be held Aug. 22 at 7 p.m., at the home of Mrs. Ray Hudson, 844 N. Resh St. The luau is a benefit for the Golden Jubilee Burse, a fund for the education of young men for the priesthood. Youth Sings Slated At Churches Sunday
The Orange County Youth Sings will be held Sunday, Aug. 9, at 9 in the two churches, Faith Evangelical United Brethren, 1915 West Fairview, Santa Ana, and Midway City Community Friends 19752 Jackson St., Midway City.
The Sing at Faith E. U. B. will feature Chuck Alexander as song leader, devotions by Rev. Paul Alleman, and a soloist and special music. Both of these sings will have refreshments for all.
The popular songs attracted more than 200 young persons, many from Anaheim, at the last gatherings.

BPW Members Attend Confab
Fourteen members of the Anaheim Business and Professional Women's Club attended the summer conference of the San Orco District, held at the new Elks Club in Ontario.
President Ruth Shilling of San Bernardino presided at the business session. Zella Stone, first vice-president of California Federation B. & P. W. C. was present.
Program coordinator Darlene Stauffer of Orange presented work shop groups covering all areas of club work; executive interests, administrative interests community interests, personal interests and world interests.

City Symphony to Perform at Green Theatre Program
Reviving a tradition of air concerts in the Greek Theater of Anaheim, the Anaheim Symphony Orchestra will perform morrow evening under the bat of guest conductor, Paul Cox.
The fifth of "Under the Star" series arranged by the Anaheim Park and Recreation Department it is open to the public for summer enjoyment. A delightfully melodious and rhythmical program has been selected by Cox, who associated with the Music Department of Orange Coast College and who comes to the Anaheim Symphony upon completion of its current run of "Guys and Dolls" at Orange Coast College.
The program will include musical selections of a wide range from concert music ballet and light opera. The program will include.

FUND CHAIRMAN — Fred T. Krein has been named general chairman of this year's United Fund Campaign for the Anaheim area. The goal for the 14 Human Service groups is set at $225,000 and represents an increase of $25,000 above last year's raised total. The Anaheim area conducted the most successful campaign in Southern California last year and was the first to go over the top.

Moose Women Plan Weekly Fish Fry
At a recent meeting of the Anaheim Chapter 1473 Women of the Moose, it was announced that beginning Friday and every Friday thereafter, a fish fry dinner will be served at the Moose Hall, 1224 N. Palm St.
The dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
Six members of the executive board attended an executive session in San Pedro last week, it was reported. The meeting there was conducted by Mrs. Lee Erickson past deputy grand regent. Newly-elected officers were acquainted with their new duties and plans for the coming year were discussed.
The Anaheim meeting featured entertainment by the Gilliam School of Music of Buena Park.
Chi Pi Chapter Has Potluck Dinner
Members of the Chi Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi honored their newly appointed member advisor at a potluck dinner held at the home of Mrs. William Hall, president, 1905 Willow St.
Honored guest was Mrs. Don Henry of 2137 Victoria St.
Others attending were Mrs. Jack Scott, Mrs. Richard Ralstoy, Mrs. Charles Driscol, Mrs. Henry Lestmann, Mrs. Kim VcCoy, Mrs. Percy Hildebrand and Mrs. Thearman McKenney.
Anaheim Residents Invited to Attend Philharmonic Orchestra
Indications point to a capacity audience for the annual "under the stars" Philharmonic Orchestra concert with Frieda Belinfante conducting and Rafael Mendez trumpet soloist. August 22, in Irvine Bowl, according to reports from Orange County Philharmonic Society officials.
The concert which starts at 8:15 p.m. is expected to draw a good portion of Anaheim music lovers.
Music Director Frieda Belinfante has arranged a festive work.
Mendez will present some of his most famous numbers which have been acclaimed around the world and won for him the distinction of being called "the world's greatest trumpet player." These include the Mexican Hat Donce; the Bohemian Dance from "Carmen"; Bizet; the "Marcarena" (Bullfighter Song), Monterder; the Sarasate "Zigeunerweisen" "Gypsey Dances). Mendez has made his own trumpet arrangements for these works.
Janet Thill To Hawaii
Miss Janet Thill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Thill of N. Citron and a student at Macwood High School, leaves Saturday by United Airlines for a three-week stay in Hawaii.
Miss Thill will be accompanied by her aunt, Mrs. Percy Bowne and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bowne Fullerton. Jack Bowne is assistant administrator of the Anaheim elementary schools.
Al Blyler Named Director for Theatre Guild Plans
Al Blyler of Garden Grove will direct the Anaheim Theatrical Guilds Production of the Pulltite Prize winning play "Picnic". The three-act comedy-drama is the Guilds first show of the 1959 season. Readings were held weekend.
Blyler attended the Pittsbu Pa., School of Theatre in 1959. The last show he directed before moving to California was "Ye Age" in Warren, Pa. In 1958 directed "Dial M For Murder" the Guild.

Janet Thill To Fly to Hawaii Saturday
While in the islands, the group will stay at the Towers, in the famous Kaiser Village on Waikiki Beach. They will tour the Big Island (Hawaii) and the island of Maui, and they plan to take in the usual island entertainment including the huge Royal Hawaiian luau.
The visitors will return by the Matsonia, if they can book passage, around Sept. 5.
The 54th annual Iowa summer picnic will be held Saturday at Recreaton Park in Long Beach.
Lowen Casey and Fred Beckham traveled to Ruidoso, N.M., last weekend to watch one of their colts run at Ruidoso Downs.
