Planners Consider Street Changes Stanton Ave. will be changed to Beach Blvd., where it passes through Anaheim, according to recommendations taken under advisement by the City Planning Commission. In addition to Stanton Ave., changes to the following is recommended: Bruce Place to Milan Place; Cheesley Drive to Lodge Drive; Date St. east to East Oak Ave.; Date St. west to Evergreen St.; Embassy Drive to Westvale St.; Faye Ave. to Faywood St.; Fern St. to Franklin St.; Verona St. to Medford St.; Aurora Drive to Primrose St.; Clearbrook Lane to Camellia St.; Tlara to Midrid; Brown to Oakwilde; Ruth Place to Bayless. Professor Takes Trip to Europe A Chapman College faculty member is one of 37 college and university professors in the United States who has been invited to participate in the Educators Study Tour of higher education facilities in Russia and Europe this summer. Dr. Bernard J. Oliver Jr., professor of psychology and sociology at Chapman College since 1952, left for New York City to meet with the other educators going on the tour, which has been arranged by William Dennis, vice president of the American Book Publishing Company. Loyal Order of Moose Meeting In New Quarters The Anaheim Lodge 1853 of the Loyal Order of Moose, meeting in their new home at 1224 N. Palm, discussed plans for the future which will include members, families and friends. Glad to be part of the community of Anaheim, a spokesman said, the Lodge hopes to establish itself as a helpful organization here. Presiding at the meeting was Phil Bellisto, governor, who was assisted by Grady Smith, past governor; Gerald Drake, junior governor; Ted Zenotzel, prelate; and John H. Hazes, secretary. Special guests included Jack Heldler, vice president of the South Central District; Richard Vink, civic affairs committee of the South Central District; Bill Fisher and Eddie Barron, interlodge relations committee. All gave short talks. Cal Mattice, new membership committee chairman, will welcome phone calls at PR 2-0184 regarding membership. Gas Company Gets Building Permit The issuance of a $450,000 building permit to the Southern Counties Gas Co. for a new general service building at 1919 S. Placentia Ave., has boosted the city's building activity. Another permit issued was for Ann T. Supervisors Get Holiday Request County supervisors have taken under submission a letter from the Native Sons of the Golden West organizations protesting the county's elimination of Admission Day, Sept. 9, as a holiday for county employees. Tickets on Sale For All-Star Event Orange County's first All-Star football benefit has opened its box office as tickets officially are on sale for the North-South game. Sponsored by the Brea Lions Club, the game is expected to fill the Santa Ana Bowl as 50 of the county's most outstanding high school grads will play their last game before county fans.
