Admire Piano The school boys and girls admired the beautiful piano, the third one to reach California, which sailed on a ship around Cape Horn from the east coast. They lingered beside a potter's wheel in the patio of Avila house to marvel at the deft hands of the benign Senor Madero, who fashioned little vases from red clay as they watched. Before stepping out into the bright sunshine of the street again, each visitor paused to wish on the "good luck" horseshoe imbedded in cement near the entrance to the little chapel which is part of the adobe house.
