Next, no present. Instead each member of the household should decide on some item he or she fully intended to purchase for him or herself, and, in honor of Dad won't. This item and its price should be written down on a piece of paper and given to father as a pledge. Notarized. Then Dad can spend the saved money on himself. BIRTHDAY FOR DICK — One behind the scenes organizations in Anaheim receiving very credit for making the visit of Vice President Nixon a little easier, is Mitchell's Bakery. They were responsible for the beautiful birthday cake the vice president received while attending festivities at Disneyland. ALWAYS A WISE GUY IN THE CROWD — A couple of realists, who had the pleasure of extending the dedication of $6 million worth of new features at Disneyland, for fun pictured these events of the day: A customer just off one of the sommarines, with water soaking back of his coat, grumbled that "they'd better get that thing dried." Walt Disney suspended for some 45 minutes on a stalled monorail train while his helpers tried to get the new machine moving again. Riders on the bobsled running down the spiral track of the Matterhorn so terrified at the 35 mile per hour speed that it had to be cut down to 25, then to 20 and finally to 18. Submarines which do not submerge. The conning tower is always above the surface, to allow a safe supply of oxygen and to provide exit in case of emergency. But even the "funny boys" have to admit that the new features at Disneyland are worth seeing any time and any place. T. V. Bids (Continued from Page 1) work more rapidly even at a higher price. More T.V. Action Trustees in other action aimed at putting the T.V. program into operation awarded the contract to Kiely Company for $151,000 for construction of the studios at the Broadway School. Trustees also awarded Benson and Company the contract for conversion of classrooms to the audio-visual rooms. The bid was $82,441.
