... Little Notes (Continued from Page 1) thing around. And it's very rarely any community gets ahead of the improvements it needs when an area is growing. Just for Kicks — So far two Orange County high school students have been seriously injured by the "firecracker craze", generally associated with graduation. Only Monday, while Anaheim seniors were "having a dry-run" on graduation exercises in La Palma Stadium, the grandstand area was erupting with pyrotechnics. Even the pleading of one of the faculty members over the loudspeaker, that students might get hurt, did little or no good. Looking back at high school graduation, seniors are probably the hardest people in the world to reason with when it comes to practical jokes. If we are lucky Anaheim won't have the tragedy connected with fireworks that other nearby communities have experienced. If we are lucky our seniors can get through graduation exercises Anaheim Man Gets New Hughes Post Appointment of Donald M. Maher as chief of financial planning, engineering laboratories, Ground Systems, Hughes Aircraft Company, was announced by John D. Couturie, Group controller. In his new post Maher will report to C. E. De Baker, finance manager, Ground Systems engineering laboratories. He resides with his wife, Adelaide, and their three sons, at 1223 Ralston St., Anaheim. Maher is a member of the National Association of Cost Accountants. Before joining Hughes, Maher was controller for Mission Appliance Co., Hawthorne, and prior to that chief cost accountant for Dresser Equipment Co., Torrance. A graduate of Bryant College, Providence, R. I., Maher attended high school in North Attleboro, Mass. Officers Named Two Anaheim residents are among the new officers of the Fotoguild of Orange County. Trey are Earl E. Smith, secretary, and Dr. Edwin N. Roth, new director. Iowa Tests, given 11th grade students in Anaheim High School District, have proved students and teachers alike have buckled down.
