TELEPHONE BE 5-2200 Anaheim Man Wins Bids on New Centralia Buildings Bids were let in Centralla School district to add more classrooms to three existing schools in the district. Robert L. Joy, 1735-Tonia Lane is Anaheim, was successful over C. W. Devore of Garden Grove and the J. Ray Construction company in Corona del Mar with his bid of $356,711. According to Glen H. Dysinger, Sr., district superintendent, Contractor Joy's bid was 11 per cent under the estimated cost, or a savings of 42,899. Joy is not new to Centralia district, the superintendent stated, as he built the Glen H. Dysinger, Sr., school at 7770 Cainellia Dr., in Buena Park, finishing the construction in record time and slightly ahead of schedule in May, 1957. Dysinger explains that by bidding the three jobs together at Buena Terra, Mira Linda and Walter Knott schools, Centralla district can take advantage of a "package deal" by getting a better price through a larger contract. Construction is expected to begin at once, he said. Included in the new plans are four movable classrooms and one kindergarten at Buena Terra; an additional kindergarten at Mira Linda and eight classrooms, two kindergartens at Walter Knott school. Capacity of the three schools will be 957 at Buena Terra, 825 at Mira Linda and 170 at Walter Knott, compared to present 770 at each school. Dysinger declares the fact that subdividers can build houses farther than schools can be provided. The addition to Walter Knott school is to make provision for Imperial Estates homes and other 40-acre subdivision by same builder on Knott avenue. The superintendent reports that application will soon be made State School planning for No. 9 schools. School No. 9 specially needed to relieve our crowding at Mira Linda. The plant will be located 660 ft. of Knott Ave. and south of Lincoln Ave. we are currently attending Centralla and Mira Linda schools.
