Obituaries
Louise M. Perden
Louise Marie Perden, 70, who has lived in Anaheim for six years, residing at 214 N. Rose Street, died early Sunday, May 31st at her home after an extended illness. She is survived by two daughters; Miss Helen I. Perden and Mrs. Robert Davis, both of Anaheim; one brother, Frederick Mayer of New York and two grandchildren, Christopher P. Davis and Miss Katharine L. Davis, both of Anaheim. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Anaheim and the associate pastor, Dr. Arthur M. Stevenson officiated at funeral services in the Hilgenfeld Mortuary Chapel, Tuesday. Interment was in the family plot in the Cemetery Beautiful on Staten Island, New York.
Charles H. Wolf
Charles H. Wolf, 65, a native of Connecticut, who came to California 30 years ago and who had lived in California for seven years, the family home being at 702 Hemlock Place, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 28th. He was working on his home and complained of illness and entered the house and collapsed. He is survived by his wife, Emma D. Wolf; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane Mullins of Anaheim; one sister, Mrs. Anna Henry of Los Angeles and one granddaughter, Miss Debra J. Mullins of Angola.
Student Body Officers to Awarding of the top honors of the year and installation of new student body officers will be features of the annual Fullerton Junior College awards assembly set for 11 a.m. today in the auditorium of Fullerton College.

Gustafson, pastor of the Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton, officiated and burial followed in Melrose Abbey Memorial Park.
Earl Cooper
Earl Cooper, 77, a native of Iowa who came to California in 1944 and who has lived in Anaheim at 701 Victor Street for two years, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 26th, at the family home. He is survived by his wife, Adeline Cooper and a number of nieces in the east. Funeral services were conducted in the Hilgenfeld Mortuary Chapel Friday. Entombment was made in Melrose Abbey Mausoleum.
Kathleen Minissale
Kathleen Minissale, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Minissale of 20932 Santa Ana Canyon Road, died at the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. Other than her parents, she leaves her parental grand-mother, Mrs. Concetta Bleggl of Michigan. Graveside funeral services were conducted Friday in Melrose Abbey Memorial Park. Rev. Al Casebeer officiated. Hilgenfeld Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Anaheim Resident Places in Essay Competition Event
Winners of the annual essay contest co-sponsored by the Orange County Realtors Council and Orange County Title Company include an Anaheim resident.
Darien Dayton, 17, an honor student at Newport Harbor High School, captured first place in the county-wide competition. She was awarded a $100 savings bond. The second and third place winners, Geary Ashby, 15-year-old freshman at Anaheim Servite Fligh School, and Candee Cook, 16, junior at Mater Del High School, Santa Ana, received $50 and $25 bonds, respectively.
Engraved gold plaques were presented to each of eight district winners. Their names also are inscribed on large gold trophies which will be in possession of their respective high schools for the next year.
The awards were presented on behalf of Orange County Title Company by George A. Parker, the firm's president, after all district winners read their essays. This year's subject was "What We Expect of Our Legislative Representatives."
All eight essays will be submitted to the California Real Estate Association for judging in first state contest.
More than 120 realtors, honorees and their parents and teachers attended the affair. Marc Andrews of Anaheim, District 23 vice president, presided.
Officers to Receive Top Honors Today
Sum of Fullerton College.
Top awards to be given include the Art Nunn Memorial award to be given to the year’s "Most Inspirational Athlete," the club service award, the Kiwanis Club Award, Bank of America business education awards, and a special science award.
Other program highlights will include a full cast musical number from the recent Showtime production, the college Vets' Club re-giving their winning number from the Spring Sing, and a dance number from the Modern Dance Concert. The College band will also play.

First order of business will involve the swearing in the major student body officers for the coming year, President Bill Lives, Vice-President Pete Dodd, Secretary Gail Wilbur, and Treasurer Bob Hexmalhach. Wayne Wedin, retiring student body president, will also make a brief talk. Introduction of next year's song and yell leaders will follow as will presentation of a sophomore class gift by President Bob Hathcock.
The first group of awards to be presented will be a "Showtime" award, band and choir awards, the Arlon award, the Science award, the Actor and Actress of the Year award, the Bank of America Awards, and the Introduction of the Most Valuable Player in all sports.
After the Veterans' Club Spring Sing number and the dance selection, the second group of awards will be given, a W.A.A. award, a dance award, a Journalist of the Year award, a Creative Writing award, the Kappa Lambda Individual Service awards.
