NOTICE TO BIDDERS THE BOARD OF TRUKEES of the MAGNOLIA SCHOOL DISTRICT will receive bids to purchase sprinkler System up to 18 a.m. Monday, February 16, 1959, in compliance with specifications on file at the office of said School District. P.O. Box 200, Anaheim, California. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bidding bond for an amount, no less than five (5) per cent of the total bid, made payable to the order of the Board of Trustees of said School District to guarantee delivery. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 26th day of February, 1959, and will be opened on sale date at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., in public, in the City Council Chambers in the City Council State of California, by the City Clerk and the City Engineer, for furnishing the following: All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings therefor All foremen, unless separately classified shall be paid as provided in the May 1958 version of the A.G.C., B.G.A., H.B.L., E.G.C.A., A.F.I., - C.I.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Apprentices may be employed in conformity with Section 1771.5 of the California Labor Code. The rates of per diem wages for each of the various classifications of work will be hereinafter set forth providing necessary wages multiplied by sight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work. It being understood that in the event that workers are employed less than eight hours per day per day per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that number of hours of employment be set to eight hours. The prevailing rate establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Work required in excess of eight hours in the day on Sundays during interval of time from 5:30 o'clock P.M. Friday and 2:00 o'clock midnight Saturday such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages except as otherwise provided by May 1958 revision of the A.G.C., B.G.A., H.B.L., E.G.C.A., A.F.I., - C.I.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the specified rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract. Boys shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond for ten (10%) per cent of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Anaheim, and shall be sealed and delivered to the City Clerk at the City Hall of O'clock P.M. on the 26th day of February, 1959; at which time sealed proposals will be opened in public by the City Clerk and the City Engineer. Such contract shall be entered into within fifteen (15) days after receipt by said contractor of notice of the awarding of the contract unless such time is extended by the City of Anaheim. Each bid must specify the name and location of the office of each subcontractor who will perform work or labor or render services to the contractor in about 100% of the contract price and a labor and material bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price, and bonds required for each bond company satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Anaheim and shall be approved by the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency before acceptance. The successful bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim.
