LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSals FOR FURNISHING ALL MARKS, LABOR, SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND PERFORMING ALL WORK NEEDS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF VINE STREET FROM CENTER STREET TO SANTA ANA STREET, JOB NO. 211. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 13th day of November 1955, and will be opened on same date at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. The rates per diem wages for each of the various classifications of work shall be determined set forth prevailing rates or minimum multiples by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a days work, it being understood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the number of hours of employment bears to eight hours. The overtime rule establishing the rate of overtime and holiday work shall be accordance with the following: When single shift is worked, eight hours continuous employment, except for lunch periods, an allowance a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during one interval of time from 6:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight such work shall be paid for at maximum rate of one and one-half times the rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the May 1958 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.P.L., U. I.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Holidays herein referred to shall be deemed to be vacant days Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be construed a legal holiday. It shall be mandatory upon the contractual agreement that the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor or under him to pay not less than the specified rates of wages to all laborers, workers and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract. Each bid shall be made out on a term to be obtained at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a valid check or bid bond for ten (10%) per cent of the amount of the bid made payable to the City of Anaheim, and shall be sealed and delivered to the City Clerk at the City Hall of the City Anaheim before 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 13th day of November 1958, at which time sealed proposals will be opened in public by the City Clerk and the City Engineer sealed proposals shall submitted in sealed envelopes and marked in the upper left corner "Sealed proposals for construction OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF VINE STREET, JOB NO. 211" together with the name and address of the bidder.
