The rates of per diem wages for each of the laborer applications of work shall be the herein indicated for prevailing rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work. It being understood that in the event that workers are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the number of hours of employment bears to eight hours.
The overtime due establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following:
Where a single shift is worked, eight hours or continuous employment, except for lunch period, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours on any one day or during the interval of five hours $0.00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock night Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the May, 1956 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.L., E.G.C.A., A.F.L.C.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day. Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday.
Shall be mandatory upon the contractor when the contract is awarded and upon any subsequent under him to pay not less than the said specified rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.

All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workable manner an office or warehouse specifications, plans and drawings thereof on file in the office of the City Engineer or City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the following public improvement, towne: The Placentia Avenue Sewer Improvement, from La Jolla Street to Cypress Street, consisting of the construction or a V.C.I.E. sewer lateral drainage Average from Jolla Street to Cypress Street, including trenching, backfill and flooding, manhole construction, jacking under the Riverside Freeway, resurfacing, and appurtenant work as indicated on the plans. Job No. 1146, and shall be tabulated by the City Engineer and the result thereof reported to the City Council after not required or adjourned regular meeting or action thereon by said City Council.
PURSUANT to the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which this type of work is to be performed (for each type of work measured to execute this contract). Each bid must specify the name and location of the mill, shop or office of each subcontractor who will perform work or labor or goods/services to the contractor in or about the construction of the work or improvement and the portion of the work which will be done by each subcontractor. If any bid submitted fails to specify a subcontractor as aforesaid, the contractor submitting such bid agrees to perform the work himself.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faithful performance bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price and a labor and material bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price, said bonds to be secured from a surety or bonding company satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Anaheim and approved by the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency before acceptance.
Plans and specifications may be obtained from the City Engineer or the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim at the City Hall, Anaheim, California for the sum of Five and no/100 dollars. If picked up at odd offices of the sum of Six and no/100 ($6.00) dollars it forwarded by mail.
The successful bidder will be required to continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work and adjacent property from damage arising out of the performance of the contract and to furnish the City with adequate insurance for an amount not less than $100,000.00 for injuries including accidental death of any one person; $200,000.00 on property damage insurance in an amount not less than $50,000.00, and

CAMP PENDLETON—Marine Pvt. George G. Smith, son of Mrs. C. McDonald of 1000 E. Sycamore St., Anaheim, is scheduled to graduate Sept. 16 from an intensive four-week infantry training course.
During this period Marines live primarily in the field and take part in bivouac, marches and muscle building exercises.
This training, followed by two weeks leave, completes the basic Marine Corps training. Graduates are then assigned to specialist schools or a permanent duty assignment.
