NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSals FOR FURNISHING ALL PLANT LABOR SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT; PERFORMING ALL WORK NECESSARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND COMPLETION WITHIN THE CITY OF Anaheim, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REFERENCES ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY Clerk OF THE CITY OF Anaheim OR THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC IMPROvement OR WORK: IMPROVEMENT OF THE INTERSECTION AT SOUTH AND LEMON BETTS, ON THE NORTH SIDE OF SOUTH STREET, JULY NO. 441.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that issued proposals will be received by the City or Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 17th day of September, 1958, and will be opened on said date at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. public in the City Council Unions in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, state of California, by the City Clerk and the City Engineer, for furnishing the following:
All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilitarian equipment, including power, fuel and wafer; and sequestering all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings thereof on file in the office of the City Engineer or City Council of the City Hall, the following public improvement will: The Improvement of the Intersection at south and Lemon Street, on the north side of South Street at Lemon Street, by the construction of a storm drain, repairing curb and manhole work, and appurtenance work as indicated on the plan Job No. 441, and shall be tabulated by the City Engineer and the result thereof reported to the City Council at its next regular or adjourned regular meeting, for action thereon by the Council.
PERSUASIED TO the provisions of Section 1779 of the Labor Code, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which this type of work is to be performed for each type of work required to execute this contract. The following wage scale so ascertained is as follows:
Hourly Rate Asphalt Plant Dryerman or Fireman $2.95 Asphalt Plant Engineer or Foreman $3.05 Asphalt Plant Apprentice—Airbrush and Grassman $2.54 Asphalt Raker and Ironer $2.51 Bootman $2.55 Box Mixer Operator $2.95
Fuses to enter into said contract after being requested and do so by the City of Anaheim. Such fuses shall be within within fifteen (15) days after receipt by said contractor of notice of the awarding of the contract unless such time is extended by Anaheim.
Each bid should have the name and location of the multilayer service of each subcontractor who will perform work or labor or render services to the contractor in or about the construction of the work or improve-ment and the portion of the work which will be done by each subcontractor. If any bid is submitted without specification of a subcontractor as before, the contractor submitting such bid agrees to perform the work himself.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faithful performance bond for each amount equal to 100% of the contract price, said bonds to be secured surety or bonding company satisfactory to the City Council of the City at Anaheim. The bond shall be approved by the City Attorney and form and sufficiency before acceptance.
Plans and specifications may be obtained from the City Engineer or the City Clerk of the City at Anaheim at the City Hall Anaheim, California for the sum of five thousand and 100 ($4.50). Dollars if picked up at offices, or the sum of six and no/100 ($4.60). Dollars if forwarded by mail.
The successful bidder will be required to continue maintenance adequate protection of all his adjacent property from damage arising out of the performance of the contract and to furnish the City with public liability insurance in an amount less than $100,000.00 for injuries such accidental death of any one accident, account of any one accident, and property damage insurance in an amount not less than $50,000.00, and public liability insurance to cover used by him whether on or off the premises to an amount of $50.,000.00 for injuries to any one accident, and property damage in an amount of $10,000.00. Compensation and employer's liability insurance shall be maintained during the life of the contract covering all employees on the project. The employee must be responsible that all employees of subcontractors are protected by such insurance. Such insurance shall be furnished by the companies satisfactory to the City and subject to the annual City Attorney as to form and sufficiency.
The successful bidder and any subcontractor and contractors employed by him in the performance of said work or any part of the work said public improvement will be required use only such manufactured articles as have been mined or produced in the United States, and only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been manufactured in

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF Anaheim will hold PUBLIC HEARINGS in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim on Monday, September 8, 1958, at the hour of 2:00 O'clock P.M. to receive and consider all evidence and reports at these HEARINGS or obtained previously by the Commission relative to the PETITION submitted by the Owners of the following described properties:
VARIANCE 1026 — PETITION submitted by DON COLEMAN, 154 Katie Avenue, Anaheim, California as Authorized Agent, requesting permission in accordance with section 1026 for form and sufficiency before acceptance.

Health and Welfare payments shall be made in accordance with the Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
All foremen, unless separately classified, shall be paid as provided in the May 1956 revision of the A.G.C.R.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.F.L.C.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Apprentices may be employed in conformity with Section 1777.5 of the California Labor Code.
The foremen are employees less than half the number of hours worked by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work, it being understood that in the event that workers are employees less than half the number of hours worked by eight.
The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following intervals: any one day during interval from 5:00 to 6:00 clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 clock midnight during the life of the contract covering all employees on the project. The contractor shall be responsible that all employees are protected by such insurance. Since insurance shall be furnished by the company, safety to the City and subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency.
The successful bidder and any subcontractor and contractors employed by him in the performance of said work or any other work shall be public improvement will be required to use only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been mined or produced in the United States, and only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been mined or produced in the United States materialized from articles, materials and supplies mined, produced or manufactured, as the case may be, in the United States pursuant to the provisions of Sections 4300 to 4305, both inclusive, of the Government Code of the State of California.
Pursuant to the provisions of Sections 4300 and 4313 of the Government Code of the State of California, and price, fitness and quality being equal, the successful bidder and any subcontractors or contractors employed by him to do work on a work in the above described public improvement shall be required to prefer supplies grown, manufactured or produced in the State of California and next to prefer supplies partially grown, manufactured or produced in the state of California.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a Non-Colonius Affidavit, copies of which may be obtained from the City Clerk.
The successful bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the City Anaheim.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informality to the extent permitted by law, and reserves the right to make an award to the lowest responsible bidder found and determined to serve the best interests of the City of Anaheim.

EIGHT HOURS SHALL constitute any day being construed in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be the fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the number of hours of employment is the overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch period, shall constitute days beginning on the Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the City of Anaheim v. B.A.A.HRL E.G.C.A.A.F.L.C.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Arlington Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday.
It shall be mandatory upon the contract to be signed by both contractor and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the specified rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Eight hours shall be made out on a form to be submitted at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bldd bond for ten (10%) per cent of the amount of the bid made payable to the City Clerk or the City Engineer.
