Bank of America's West Anaheim Unit Opens for Business
Bank of America's new West Anaheim branch went into operation Monday morning at 1685 Crescent Avenue, after a successful public open house celebration last Thursday night attended by 1200.
The modern-design, $240,000 branch quarters are about five times as large as the building formerly occupied by the branch.
Ribbon-cutting ceremonies at the open house were participated in by Anaheim's vice-mayor A. J. Schutte, Chamber of Commerce manager George Strachan, Anaheim's beauty queen Miss Betty Corn, the builder of the building, Allison Honer, and other prominent people of this area.
Orange County Coin Club was represented by its president, John Stoppelwerth, its secretary, Herbert M. Bergen, and charter member Dr. C. Glenn Curtis. The three were in charge of a large and unusual coin collection displayed at the opening.

LAW IN AG
THE SUPREME COURT AT WORK
The U.S. Supreme Court can hear only a small part of the 1500 cases in which review of a lower court's order is sought.
In certain kinds of cases the appellant is entitled to a review. But in the majority of cases the court must decide whether or not it will review.
So the court's first job is to pick out the cases it will hear. Aside from cases which they must hear, this is a hard job on which the justices often disagree among themselves. It takes four justices to bring such a case up for review.
This done, the clerk sets a time for oral argument.
Before the parties come into court they must submit briefs and records often running into thousands of pages.
Next the justices hear the lawyers speak—and often break in with questions. The oral argument is an hour or less for each side.
Afterwards the justices talk the case over in conference.
